Kanon

Otaku-san

Chuunibyou
Remember when I was on about the TV series Air that Kyoto animation produced.

Well I remember some of you guys thought that Kanon was cooler, so I thought I mention that I've noticed the first and second volumes dubbed and for sale by ADV.

Anyone want to discuss on this?

(Though I'm not sure if this is old info or what since I've only found out today myself>_<)

I have the first volume and am waiting for the second. I watched the first volume and really enjoyed it, but I can't work out why it is quite slow paced and nothing really happens in the first four episodes but it is still a very watchable slice of life anime.

I've seen it before and have volumes 1 and 2 on order. I just hope that ADV don't, for whatever reason, end up dropping it.

Its a very good anime. In fact its one of the few anime I'd go as far as to give it 10/10, but I do admit the first few or so episodes are slightly slow in pace (but its twice as long as Air, so you can allow for a slightly slower pace to begin with).

The animation, music, story, characters, voice acting (Japanese, I haven't looked at the dub) and anything else you can think of are all flawless.

Both Air and Kanon are brilliant series', and both are a must have.

Funny the main responses I got from Air were mainly negative, but hey Kyoto productions seem to create either shows you like or don't.

Lucky Star compared to Soul Taker is a good example

Though I'm equally amused that this is another production that been evolved around a game

I was quite (pleasantly) surprised Chris Patton does the voice for Yuuichi. I keep expecting him to whip out a hand gun every time something odd happens (cookie goes to the person who knows what I'm on about).

I would assume it is something to do with who he voices in Full Metal Panic.

*gives Dracos a cookie*

Speaking of the voices, I actually prefer them to the Japanese ones. They tone down the moe levels a fair bit, and the girls actually sound like they're in high school.

Yeah, I'll give Chris Patton his due, he does surprisingly well as Yuuichi, and i did think he'd say 'get down!' and whip out some sort of gun as well, but i can't say i like Nayuki's voice. Its really doesn't sound right to me, Ayu was ok bar her 'Uguu'. Still its a great series to watch/purchase, i'd recommend it to anyone. i'll be picking up volume 2 sometime this month i think.

Yer kanon is a good watch, thumbs up from me!

On the note of air, i thought it was a good series. I think it got so many bad reviews because it was quite depressive >.< but still its animation and the overall show was brilliant.

I actually thought Nayuki and Ayu were the best out of the girls. They actually sound 16/17 to me, so I'm satisfied.

Yes, Chris Patton...also the guy who says 'spooge!!'

Cripes, I was thinking is was Greg Ayes that done the Sousuke. Just shows how much I know >_<

I havent heard the dub yet, but im interested to hear it.

However i thought the original VA for Ayu was near perfect.

I honestly believe Yui Horie is the best Ayu. Her dub actor is ok though, but she just can't do "Uguu"

I loved Kanon, I found that all of the Japanese VAs were perfect for the job. They each expressed emotion very well, especially as I don't understand the Japanese language. If you can get the feeling through a foreign tongue, you know something's right.

Watched the rest of it over the weekend, and I have to say I liked it. Some parts I couldn't stand, but overall, thought t'was pretty decent. Almost b'awww'd when Ayu discovered the truth about her school.

she finds that its a meat house, that chops up little kids into sausages.
Know what you buy from Tescos

Kanon made me feel very sad (maybe a tear or two on a few occasions), but it didn't make me burst out like Air did.
