Kanon

Kurogane

Chuunibyou
I'm unsure whether to start this series or not.

I've heard both good, and bad comments in equal measure, so I'm at a standstill. ;'/

Thoughts?

I haven't seen the newer version but I'd be amazed if it was that different from the older which was a very evil show.

The only bad comments I've heard come from those that are fanboys of the original. It would seem like I'm a 2006 remake fanboy, but bear in mind I saw the original first.

The remake is a lot more faithful to the game. It has the same soundtrack and the animation is top notch. The characters have a lot more depth simply because we get to know them more thanks to the series being twice as long as the original. Its atmosphere sucks you in and it could give Air a run for its money when it comes to heartbreak and tragedy.

Well seeing as the first one sucked, it's safe to say they're different without even seeing the second version.

Evil? Heh.

Anyway, I liked both, but the remake is definitely better. Assuming you actually want to see a ren'ai series like this one - they're not especially popular.

It still has nothing on Air, however.

I just can't imagine it being that much better without a completely different plot. The original was really quite terrifying. I was definately unable to physically look at the screen on at least one occasion.

Um, why? Are you allergic to melodrama by any chance? :p

I'm allergic to pornographic fluff and what I saw was fluff at its most fluffy and pornographic.

 there is no fluff in 2006. Probably one of the best drama anime's ever. If you've read my blurbs you'll know i hold this show highly. Brilliant characters, Brilliant story, Brilliant comedy, fantastic voice cast. Animation is fantastic and the soundtrack has had alot of time put into it.

I could use every superlative in the book but it's just one of those shows you have to watch, utterly fantastic.

Damn, my condolences man :p .
Hmm, while I guess you could say there was fluff in a sort of slice-of-life way, I never noticed anything pornographic. And by "never noticed", I mean I'm pretty darn sure there was absolutely nothing pornographic in it whatsoever.

Is it bad to say...the animation really put me off watching it?
Not really, sounds like a fair enough reason not to watch something if you flat-out don't like the artwork (I assume you mean the art?).

You call transforming fox girls and disembodied souls slice-of-life? Where do you live?

I mean pornographic in terms of being highly explicit. Like some people said the violence in Passion of the Christ was pornographic.

Seriously never heard people use Pornographic when its offensive, Cos doesn't that mean you would get people saying "Im listening to a Pornographic CD" and shiz like that.

I've definately heard rap music described as pornographic. I admit though the word isn't used that way so often. I am somewhat snobby and elitist though.
