I am probably going to get flamed for this as so many rate Air highly, but I think for me the key shows go Clannad > Kanon > Air.

I like Kanon a lot but I did just prefer the humour in Clannad. Kanon however is by far the most emotional though and around episode 10 nearly had me in tears it was almost like watching someone with Alzheimer's die in front of you.

I didn't get the hype for Kanon at all (Arbalest is at fault there). Air I watched about half of years ago and wasn't that impressed. Enjoyed Clannad the most.

I think these/this show(s) are only worth watching if entertainment makes you weep. I don't, sadly, so I really wasn't that bothered when any of them died. Which of course, they do... I may have chuckled a few times, but the comedy isn't standout, neither is the romance. Clannad got comedy timing down and the romance was okay as well. Kanon also tried to be JUMP and failed.

6/10, probably.

Wow i could not stand clannad! After pushing myself to watch the first season there was nothing redeemable about it to push me onto the second.

for me i loved kanon out of the key adaptations, so i think Kanon > Air > Clannad

I like Kanon. There's a fairly tale-like quality to the story that I found quite charming, and the drama is generally subdued. It didn't have me bawling my eyes out, so I'd disagree with the assertion that it's only worth watching if you get weepy over this stuff, but at times I did find it moving.

Clannad, though... bleh.

9/10 from me; it remains my favourite series.
I watched it before I knew what moe was or was aware of the poor reception such a word receives amongst a certain subset of fans, so my enjoyment of it wasn't hindered by these notions.

Whilst it seemed to be a slow burner initially, the Makoto arc quickly turned it into one of the most prolonged and memorable emotional experiences of my life. Scenes such as Ayu falling from the tree or Yuichi breaking down as he finds the headband beneath the snow-covered bushes were handled with heartbreaking perfection, and the supernatural premises didn't overpower the series; the fantasy elements often augmenting the cleansing effect the show has. Plus, the male lead has a varied character and ultimately shows as much emotion as the girls, an added bonus for the drama.

Naturally, many others will either admit that it is either a guilty pleasure, or will express the polar opposite of the points I make when giving their opinions.

I'm staying well away from any other Key(?) series. The first three episodes of Air were enough to convince me that it'll be a struggle to finish that '8/10' series, let alone the longer ones. I still haven't gone to back to have another look at it - I just cba because I know it doesn't have what it takes to go far above 6/10.

Myself excluded, anime fans are a dumbfuck breed. It's amazing how certain series (by certain I mean moe) can get such high scores - it just shows how many idiots exist in the world. If only people had my taste and ability to completely objective...

I love tits and certain character types (dominating/bitchy women FTW) as much as the next guy, but big breasts and/or hot personalities aren't enough to make a bad story good. My mental image of most anime fans makes me see them rating anything that does nothing for their penis/third hole low - brain food matters not to them.

...I don't know why I'm ranting about breasts when the Air females lack them and look ugly in general, but whatever. I might like Air more if Asuka was in it, actually...

Sometimes I really struggle to interpret your anti-moe writings, Aion. I wish to believe they are light-hearted in tone, but I seldom read them that way.

yeah i wrote a post on this when ADV just started licensing....awww good times

any how glad you like it SSC, i think the best thing with these series is they kept so much of the original game soundtrack that it fits in so well for an animated series.

Yes even i boohooed a lot

give us info if little busters makes a release

I've aways used 'mom'. I've never used 'mum', or 'mam' in my life, and I almost never use 'mother'. I'm sure it was 'mommy' in my younger years, but this has no relevance to the thread, or anything at all.

just wondering whether when i use the quote "who's ya daddy" to actually say "who's ya pappy"

I have no intention of watching any of these series' so I uncovered the spoilers with glee, but I do know that quote deserves to go on the box. :D

Wrong character but a good poster.

WHAt THE HELL

it looks like some shoddy MVM release with writing and review crap squiggled all over the place

Uh, thanks for the input Otaku. Perhaps if I was designing an actual cover for an actual DVD I might have put a bit more time and effort into it.
