Japanese Anime releases that are English-friendly

Hello everyone!

I've gone ahead and created a thread for Japanese releases that are English-friendly, which could either be subtitled or dubbed.

This OP won't be updated to make a comprehensive list, however, it would work out with users pitching in with their own releases, and maybe even get a discussion going on.

There is a thread on another forum - Thread on blu-ray.com, which also focuses on pre-order titles. But it would be nice to get confirmation, when people have the release in-hand, as there's been some back and forth on some releases.

To users who pitch in, please think about formatting! - this thread would be built around using the "Search" function in the top right (set it to "This thread") - which then makes it easier for others to search.

I think it could also be nice to confirm which releases DON'T have any option for English, so people get a definitve answer.

I'll be checking my discs later today and put them up today.
 
I can confirm that the following Japanese release have English subtitles.

**Original volumes have downloadable BD-Live audio commentaries with English subtitles. However, the BD-Live service has ended. The Complete Edition has the BD-Live audio commentaries without subtitles.

Personally I think it would be more convenient to list what titles have English subs/dubs in the first post like Denny's Region B compatibility thread. Keeps stuff more organised that way. If you don't have time to update the thread you could leave the job to another user if you like.

So far no one has voluntered to do so, even GwG mentioned yesterday that he didn't want to update the other thread anymore. If someone wants the thread and update the OP all the time, they can have it :)

I just thought this was a nice alternative, without having to update and this forum has a search function.

I just find keeping it in one post saves more time compared to using the search function is all. I might make a new thread now I have access to my laptop.
 
Not a Japanese importer, and don't have a lot to add to this thread, but via the US releases...

The 2007 Bandai Visual release of The Wings of Honneamise has English and Japanese, dubs and subs.
The 2012 Aniplex of America release of Baccano has English and Japanese, dubs and subs.

I assume in both these cases, the US releases just used the Japanese discs.
 
The Tiger & Bunny S1 Blu-ray Box (2016) contains both English subtitles and the English dub by Studiopolis. The later 'Compact blu-ray box' set is different and may not do.
 
Not a single one of my Japanese imports has included English subs or dubs. I do wonder if there is a connection between the ones that do, do they all share a common production committee, publisher or something?
