Is 2010 finally the year for the Wii?

I really cannot think of any reason to own a Wii. There have been no genre-defining games on it.

Mario Kart Wii, Super Smash Bros Brawl, Metroid Prime 3, Punch Out, & Super Mario Galaxy would like to have a word with you.

Personally the only game I properly enjoyed when I had my Wii was Super Paper Mario. :/ I liked all the geeky jokes. Never cared for Smash Bro's, and Mario Kart Wii wasn't worth it for me.
I'm more RPG, Adventure (point and click), etc etc. With a platformer here and there if it has an appeal to me, Mario never was one I was into.

I've been playing MK Wii online a couple of times a week with some Eurogamer people since August last year. It's flawed, sure, but it's provided me with endless amusement (and quite a bit of frustration). At this point it must be my most played game ever.

As for next year, well, there's No More Heroes 2, Mario Galaxy 2, and Silent Hill: Shattered Memories (which has been receiving surprisingly positive reviews). Aside from that, there's not much on my radar.

Mario Kart 64 was the one I played the most tbh, with a group of people. I didn't enjoy DD as much, we tended to just play it with PC as our second person as it was too frustrating getting another real person to play the rear properly when they were used to just driving. :p

Mario Kart Wii is what it is, but I do like Double Dash. It was pretty batshit insane from what I remember. I liked its multiplayerness.

About the Wii, I kinda like it. I mean, its nice to know a good game comes out for it every once in a while, mainly First Party but at this stage I wouldn't specifically go out of my way to get one. They are nice to have around and fairly cheap, but not really a must-have item. Nintendo are doing well financially, though, so good for them.

I think my issue with the Wii is that I bought it back when you had to pay full price and they were hard to get ahold of therefore meaning paying a bit above full price to buy a bundle, bundled with games I didn't want "Who wants to be a millionaire" for example. :/ (I was desperate and bored and nowhere near a PC with net, I needed something). I bought it in December 2006 a couple days before Christmas. I also bought a second wiimote, and 2 nunchucks (as from what I had been told, most games required nunchucks... as it turned out, I never personally ended up needing them). So that was an expensive day.

And then of course when I finally got fed up, and also needed to buy some 360 games for use at my birthday back in July (GH+RB+the instruments) I had to trade it (and all games/accessories and all Gamecube items) in for a ridiculously low amount compared to what I paid for it (same with the GC tbh). I didn't have the money to just go buy the band games (what bugs me more is that I pretty much don't touch these games now, I just sacrificed my stuff in hopes of giving -other- people a fun day on -my- bday AGH, sometimes I hate myself...). And only now are they releasing some games I'm interested in.

I'm hoping James can get his back from his sister so I atleast have a means of playing those games. As I'd not buy a Wii, especially not after having gotten rid of mine.

Bumping because I had a go on a friend's Wii again at Christmas and quite enjoyed that skiing game... and created a Mii which will likely haunt his dreams for many nights to come.
