Interview with IAD

The Anime Place, have posted an interview with two representatives of IAD (International Anime Distribution) who we previously reported were making an attempt to legalize fansubs. The interview deals with a variety of subjects from how the company began to their distribution plans. They are also asked about the anime communities reaction to the way their company intend to market fansubs in the same way iTunes do music.

Lets hope they take note of the negative reaction then.

*Will read it later, the link doesn't work on this pc for some reason  *

They seem to be convinced that they have recieved a mainly positive reaction - or, at least, this is what they would like to say. I am against this idea wholeheartedly; it seems like a company has decided that it wants to be the soul of the anime industry, and would like to reap money from anime fans for their own selfish gain, completely acting against the selfless work of fansubbers who use much effort to allow fans to watch episodes of many series, freely and easily.

No groups have given their support yet, thanfully, and hopefully it will remain that way.

Afraid I totally agree with Chomo on this one, I really hope this venture goes poorly.
