The Simpsons, which has only a small cult fanbase in Japan, is having it's voice actors replaced for the Japanese version of the movie, from the original cast to a more famous line-up of TV personalities in order to boost ticket sales. The fans are outraged, and are petitioning to have the original Japanese voice actors back in their roles. I found this interesting, and amusing in a way. As anime fans, we are always bitching about how our shows are treated in the West, especially when it comes to voices, but it's interesting to see the handling of a Western animation cause controversy in Japan.

I'm signing the petition. I can't help but sympathise!

I heard some of the Japanese dub once, it was pretty accurate to their english voices, basically on par in terms of everything.

Pretty much, although it apparently isn't very popular in Japan.
