I'm looking for really funny anime reviewers

The Rossman is about as funny as putting a toothpick under your toenail and kicking a wall. Funny anime reviewers are extremely rare (if they exist at all). I prefer listening to and reading reviews from more serious reviewers, such as Grumpy Jii-san and GrapplerJMo (both can be found on Youtube).

<a href="http://www.d2brigade.net/">The Desudes Brigade</a> have some very amusing video reviews. There's 4 regular reviewers in total on the site; Arkada and JesuOtaku tend to be more serious with Vixen and Professor Otaku being more humourous. Vixen reviews the wackier anime and it's funny to see her reactions, while Professor Otaku is more sarcastic and dry.

My personal favourites are;

<a href="http://www.d2brigade.net/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=325&catid=79:kitsuki&Itemid=53">Kodomo no Jikan</a>

<a href="http://www.d2brigade.net/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=384&catid=79:kitsuki&Itemid=53">Bible Black</a>

<a href="http://www.d2brigade.net/reviews/75-glassreflect/1162-glass-reflection-elfen-lied">Elfen Lied</a>

<a href="http://www.d2brigade.net/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=230&catid=79:kitsuki&Itemid=53">School Days</a>

This is a blog, but it's no less of a review than Beck's, and as a member of the BFB I'm sure you - Vivian - will enjoy reading it immensely.

Also, if you ever tire of trying to recruit me for my numerous skills, would you mind trying your luck with fabricatedlunatic? He has more words in his brain than me and I'd GREATLY appreciate someone giving him something to do OTHER than messaging me. Plus, he almost exclusively goes for ecchi(ish) rubbish. I can only handle so much...

(I'm almost positive he can be funny, if forced. And if you get desperate, you can always pull out Claymore - it's highly effective.)

Also, someone needs to review True Blue in a similar manner to Rossman and include the following image, with edited speech bubbles:

I want proof. A link would be ideal.

fabricatedlunatic is one of those comedians who go under the radar. Unintentionally, he's an amusing fellow, and he's in desperate need of someone to give him something to invest his energy into with, short, sharp and concise reviews. Where as I'm young and inexperienced, he's wordly and knows much about 2D school girls and the perverse activities they enter into in anime. In fact, he's known for refusing to watch anime unless school girls are included.

You seem to have misunderstood me; assuming I'm funny. Far from it - I'm boring. Very boring. I make people yawn. Thus, I wouldn't be a good reviewer for such a high caliber site as your revered Anime Planet. But fabricatedlunatic is different. You might say he's in complete lack of class, being older than me and into school girls and all, but he's perfect for your needs.

See for yourself, and look at his latest smutty MAL entry: http://myanimelist.net/profile/alteredcourse/reviews

He'd be far better suited to the AP reviewing format, and he's VERY available. So, why not recruit HIM, instead of me? Where as you (Vivian) and me are both 'seme', in yaoi terms, he's very much a 'uke'. You'd get on far better with him.

Ooooooooooo, I forgot about video reviews. gigguk (registered here to get more viewers, then **** off super-fast) makes some fairly amusing, posh London accent anime reviews:

Hey! I haven't ****** off....I've just always been more of a lurker in most places I register in (probably cause my intrest in anime preiodically jumps in and out). And for the record I am from Brighton (is my accent really that posh?)

As for funny reviewers well heres a few:

This guy is just starting out, but I found his reviews to be quite amusing and informative at the same time:

<object width="640" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/1psI0XJUdkE?fs=1&amp;hl=en_GB"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/1psI0XJUdkE?fs=1&amp;hl=en_GB" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="640" height="385"></embed></object>

These guys try to do a kinda 'nostalgia critic' type review of anime:

Man of one title
<object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/ad0-MOlerhc?fs=1&amp;hl=en_GB"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/ad0-MOlerhc?fs=1&amp;hl=en_GB" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>

That guy with the bandana
<object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/R9m44QNtWEk?fs=1&amp;hl=en_GB"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/R9m44QNtWEk?fs=1&amp;hl=en_GB" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>

AHHHHHH Productions

Fine, fine - whatever excuse works best for you. Just keep the short 'n sweet amusing reviews coming every couple of months and I don't care if you do or don't whore yourself on forums, from time to time.

Btw, for amusement purposes, I'd like you to review Blue Flames - it being about Light from Death Note using his penis on many women to rise to the top. But, since your ratings are pretty much identical to my own, if you haven't already, you should put Gankutsuou on your radar, sooner rather than later. People with taste usually 10/10 it. It'll be a good test of your worth.

PS: The desubrigade, super-spoilerific School Days review was spot on and somewhat funny because of the female viewpoint. She's not much to look at and totally failed with her Golden Boy review, but she isn't too bad, really...

Meh I'll have a few more reviews up once the Christmas break comes and I get time to record (and edit, Ahhhhh I bloody hate editing). Oh and gankutsuou is one of my all time favourite anime so I had always planned to review it...once my viewers got tired of me whoring Baccano all the time. I'm not quite sure about reviewing hentai though.

P.s Im watching school days now so we shall see who spoilerific school days review will be better...

Yeah I admit I didn't think much of Vixen's style of reviewing at first but she grew on me overtime, I think because she went through a period of reviewing things that's racy/stuff that will never come to the UK, so I kept watching her vids and I started to really like her. I think it was her <a href="http://www.d2brigade.net/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=205&catid=79:kitsuki&Itemid=53">Shoujo Sect review</a> that won me over eventually.

ZOMG its someone from youtube! *squeal!!!1!*

And Mr. Gigguk sir, if I may sir, you don't sound too posh to me. Sort of at least two social classes down from mine. ^_^

PS. Mr. Gigguk sir, if I may, your Code Geass R2 review was so in keeping with mine that it was scary. The only thing is, your rating was a horrible miscalculation. I mean, a 7? Was that serious? You could only give Code Geass R2 the lofty praise of 7/10 if you were blind in one eye, deaf in both ears, and suffering a grand mal fit at the time so Nina's scenes completely passed you by. And yes, this is the same VivisQueen who left you a comment two days ago and is taking one more opportunity to say something highly unimportant.

Ignore Vivian, my Gankutsuou brother - she kisses up whenever she wants something. I, on the other hand, am a consistent ********. You can rest assured your virtual penis is safe with me.

Blue Flames isn't a hentai. It's a 50 minute OVA adaptation/manga teaser for a six volume seinen manga that isn't available in English. And it upsets all of its female viewers; making it interesting enough to be worth turning from 50 minutes into five.

School Days is far more disturbing and graphic, and the two anime compliment each other well. Blue Flames is School Days with Light as the lead.

The thoughts in this thread alone should highlight that gender matters when watching it: http://myanimelist.net/forum/?topicid=6610

I thought you'd like Ganku, going on your other ratings. Very good. Be sure to watch whatever you haven't out of my top ten due to God/Allah blessing you with my excellent taste.

One other thing: since you're popular, despite sounding but not looking white, you might wanna cover more than mainstream, super-popular ****. Just sayin' - you could be a valuable anime source with some training, as well as light entertainment.

I think the problem with giving R2 7/10 is less "I disagree with you" and more "very surprised that someone doesn't either completely love the series, or completely hate it".

No, he had finished it.

And my point is it definitely should have been lower. An average mark of maybe 5 or 6. (And yes, that is average. It's called THE MIDDLE OF A RANGE). I never understand when people say 'Yeah, it was average, a 7 or so), which is not average. That's above average. That's good, at the risk of sounding tautological.

And I didn't 'hate' R2. I was massively disappointed by it but recognised what it was trying to do (I am also a fan of the first season). But, let's face it, R2's execution was so utterly jumbled, a child or even Michael Bay could have done better.

His review was incredibly good, by the way, very thorough and I agreed with absolutely everything he said. I just got the impression - if I may, Mr. Gigguk, sir - that he wimped out on the rating because he feared the repercussions from the slavering fanboys.

And, sir, what AironicallyHuman actually means is that he fears anyone sounding like they know better than he does. He therefore tries to undermine me at every turn. His reactionism to my intellectual might is pathetic but sadly incurable.

Your kidding right? Whilst it wasn't as action orientated for the first 13 episodes, like season 1 was, it played out perfectly, I can't understand how someone who liked season one, could be disappointed by R2. If anything R1 was even more epic than season 1. If nothing else Lulu's death is worth an 8-9/10 alone, I mean who saw that coming, I for one did not.
R2 as you should know was the director trolling/ throwing a tantrum for 3/4 of the series due to the timeslot change and not being able to run the original plot as a result. It got moved much much earlier, from being late night prety much anything goes, to having content restrictions and having to assume people hadn't seen the original. Entire plot lines got dropped and it turned almost super robot, from being real robot. It's suposed to be serious R2 realy isn't.
Then, possibly due to the plot getting leaked, it got roughly back on track for the ending.

Not that I dislike R2 it is a truly glorious absolute trainwreck.

I saw it coming. A mile off. The final execution was highly emotive, but the buildup was all smoke and mirrors. By that point, the show boasted about as much internal logic as George W. Bush. People were too dazzled by how it all turned out to actually ask themselves whether it in any way matched what the characters had set out to do, whether it in any way fit in with their previously well-developed desires and ambitions or even personalities.

The ending had a deus-ex-machina quality to it, it was so disengaged from everything that mattered to S1 or even the first half of R2.

And I disliked the heavy reliance on action in the latter half; it was a distracting by-product that somehow overtook the whole narrative and betrayed the creators' diminishing store of ideas. What was my description again:

Above all, what really hurts the series is the eventual sidelining of strategic interplay in favour of mecha battles so excessive that the show might as well rename itself Code Geass: I Wanna Be Gurren-Lagann So Bad.

But yes, sorry, does anyone have any more ideas for funny written reviews? Videos are nice, but I'm a writing sort of gal.
