I feel like crap.

Well boys and girls, I feel pretty down at the moment because of various events that have happened. I think I need some anime to cheer me up, and it would be nice if someone could suggest a series that's very cheerful, funny and enjoyable. Something a little like Azumanga Daioh maybe. Thanks, I appreciate it.

Full Metal Panic? Fumoffu is a good choice for fun. Cromartie Highschool is some good wacky comedy. Excel Saga is good if you aren't put off by the absolute craziness of it. They are a few that immediately spring to mind.

Yep I definitely have to agree with this one, ( provided you've seen the original Full Metal Panic, beforehand - which isn't 'really' a comedy like Fumoffu, but still has it's moments. - or you might not understand some of the references. )

I know how you feel about being down, and if it hadn't been for Fumoffu I wouldn't be here now. It dragged me out of a really dark case of depression a while ago, ( and when I say dark, I mean 'dark', we're talking heavy meaning of life and why carry on, type stuff. :? ) So if it can drag me out of that, then it must be doing 'something' right. :D

LOVE HINA always cheers me up, whenever I am down I put that on and laugh

Onegai Teacher

Happy Lesson and Happy Lesson Advance, I always crack up watching one guy get mothered to death and all the stuff they put him through

FMP! and Love Hina I've already got, and was watching to cheer myself up last night. How's Cromarti High School, what kind of humour does that have?

Cromartie is purely in the crazy side of funny. Based around a school of delinquents containing a gorilla, a robot and a guy who looks like Freddy Mercury as well as a bunch of other weirdos it couldn't be anything else. The episodes are 15 minutes apiece and are largely disconnected sketches. The humour can be very hit-and-miss but it did raise a laugh from me on many occasions.

Okay I'm getting Cromartie High School but I'm curious to know if anyone thinks that Magical Shopping Arcade series is worth getting for humour? I mean the trailer looked really whacky but I want to hear it from someone who has actually seen it.

Thinking about it a bit more, you could try a couple of my favourite 'golden oldies', although you might already have them, or think they're a bit dated by todays standards.

The Project A-ko series of OVAs or the original Tench Muyo series. :D

They always made me laugh out loud. :D ( Which reminds me, I'm really gonna have to get around to buying Tenchi on DVD one of these days. :D )

Totally agree with the Tenchi Muyo suggestion one of the happiest funniest animes around imho

Yeah, Tenchi is an obvious one I suppose. I think I'll go for Cromartie Highschool and Tenchi Muyo, I hope they're as entertaining as Full Metal Panic! Fumoffu was. Thanks for the suggestions boys and girls, I appreciate the help. =]

Abenobashi is about half and half funny and serious. The funny bits are great, but the serious bits about dealing with reality isn't too happy.

OK, maybe it's not quite a 50/50 split, more 80/20 in humour's favour, but the serious bits are a bit depressing. Still a cool series, so it depends on the episode you're watching as to whether or not it'll cheer you up.

I'd say tenchi but u may want to wait on the OAV unless you happying paying £20 for 1 episode lol

Eh what? :?

The last time I looked, the boxed set of the original 13 was going for £40 from play, and £36 from Amazon.

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Tenchi-Muyo/dp/ ... UTF8&s=dvd

Or did you mean a different version?
He is talking about the latest volume of the third Tenchi Muyo OVA I believe, which was released recently after a long hiatus.

Ahh, right-o. :D

Thought it was probably something like that. There's been so many bloomin versions of Tenchi it's hard to keep track some times. lol

The one I linked to was the one I was refering to as the 'golden oldie' :D

Man I loved that series when I had it on VHS.

I need a little help with Tenchi, there are so many different ones. There's 'Tenchu Universe' and 'Tenchi in Tokyo' along with all these OVA's it seems. Can someone list which order these were all released in so I know which ones to collect first?
