How to save videos from any video site. Interested?

The other day I came across some useful information.

To save any flash video file you watch on a website, you need to wait until it fully loads, go to your browser folder, find the cache folder within (in the case of Opera, it's called 'cache4'), adjust it so that the items are ordered by size in the folder, scroll down to the largest sized file, copy it, paste it to your desktop and then add '.flv' to the end of the file name. If you can play .flv files and you've selected the right file, it'll start playing the video you watched on wherever.

Useful, no?

I can't speak for all browsers but it was as easy as I described above once I found the cache folder with Opera. I've now got a link to the cache folder on my desktop in case I ever want to save anything. :D

This is probably something most know already but I thought I'd randomly share it for those who don't. I know, I'm kind.

I hate .flv files with a passion. You can't even play them in a proper media player and need to download a special one for it.

I have it. It doesn't work in MPC.

The Firefox add-on which does this is the only reason I let Firefox live on my hard drive. I've only used it a few times though, mostly for my secret and shameful Kagamine Len Vocaloid video collection.

There are also sites like KeepVid which do much the same thing with minimal effort, though YouTube and co tend to block them occasionally. Rummaging through a browser cache is a safe option when all else fails.

Much prefer openly playable videos to flv though personally.
