HMV Offers Discounted Pre-orders for Durarara!! Volume 2

Beez have revealed on their Twitter feed that HMV have discounted pre-orders for the second volume of Durarara. It will be release on 28th March 2011 and will cost &pound;16.99, down from a RRP of &pound;34.99.

Sorry, but how the frig is that a discount? RRP's are only recommended for local shops which would be lucky to shift a dozen copies of Durarara!! a week
 
Why did they up the RRP (by a tenner) but keep the discounts as low as if it was £25?
Do they want an excuse to stop shop distro altogether?
 
Considering it's on CR at a decent quality and I'm cheap, I have some issues paying more than £2 an episode when it comes to anime on DVD. I'll wait for a complete collection with a dub I'll likely never listen to unless I have friends round, and it gets taken off CR.
 
Think I have it preordered for cheaper from Zavvi from ages ago, too.

Also, whining about paying £17 for a third of a two cour series...

Whaaaat? You gotta atleast try this dub, it's the whole reason I'm looking forward to the complete DVD. It's got Steven Jay Blum, Johnny Yong Bosh, Crispy Freeman, Yuri Lowenthal, Spike Spencer, etc, etc. Doesn't seem like a bad dub to me..
 
I may end up watching the dub, but having already watched it subbed, it may not seem right to me. It's like despite the Bleach dub being good, I can't listen to it after having watched it subbed. DRRR!! is significantly shorter than Bleach though... Well, will see what happens.

Steven Jay Blum - AWESOME!
Johnny Yong Bosh - Former Power Ranger FTW
Crispen Freeman - ...I've gotta be honest I don't think I've heard him that much so I don't know why anime fans make a big deal out of him
Yuri Lowenthal - Depending on who he voices he can be either good (Naruto) or completely annoying (Girls Bravo)...like Greg Ayers shouting and screaming at the top of his lungs annoying
Spike Spencer - So I assume he's now doing voice work in CA huh (assuming the dub for the show is done there anyway)
