If any of you guys could help out with the below call for help, please send me a private message over these forums (or e-mail paul@animeuknews.net) and I'll put you in contact with the relevant people.

It's related to this news story: http://forums.animeuknews.net/viewtopic.php?t=8511

I am writing to you on behalf of Coralie Claeysen who is currently curating a blockbuster Manga exhibition to open early March 2008 at Urbis, in Manchester, United Kingdom (www.urbis.org.uk). Our exhibition strapline is "How Manga took over the world" and we're approaching the subject of Manga through its use and influences in contemporary urban culture. Our audience will be a mixture of kids, youth, adult, cultural consumers, comic lovers and although the exhibition will appeal to the family and school audiences, it will also appeal to an independent adult audience and the business oriented one (since we're based in the cultural/business heart of Manchester).

We are very keen to include a Pikachu costume in the exhibition but are having trouble finding one, do you own one or know of anyone who we would be able to loan one from. Any loaned items would be insured and secured in the exhibition space with is also invidulated by gallery stewards.

We are also wanting to gather together as many copies of Manga magazines (new OR old) as possible to create a Manga time line. If you know of anyone who would be willing to donate some then please pass on my email address, any quantity small or large would be fantastic.

Your help on this matter would be very much appreciated. If you have any questions or information then please do not hesitate to contact me.

As I said above, if anyone can help in any way, get in contact with me and I'll forward you onto these people.

mm, them I guess I will be waiting too.. Are you from Manchester?
No,but i'm fairly close so it's easy for me to get to

There are a few sites in UK I want to see and Manchester is one of them. Not really sure what I will find there, but that show seems pretty interesting. If I hd the money I'd love to do some anime / manga tour in Japan, but that's got to wait a little bit yet, so I'm gonna make a manga tour in Manchester...
=D

Ooo~ I feel dirty now, having been to the Urbis event and not being able to help out like this...
Although buying 1/2 their anime stock may have helped them, even if it was mutually beneficial. ^_^

me and chaz went there last month, i'll find the photo's and upload them, but be warned, if you step into the gift shop, u will come out broke :D

I'm hoping to go there at some point, it looks awesome. Ryo Chan, I'd like to see your photos.

Hey want to see you and Ryo chan photos as well.
I want to go there as well, anyone for a AUKN meetup?
Although, I want to go there in July for the films...

Great pictures, thanks for uploading them. There's some good pictures on the Urbis site as well.

The exhibition is open until September so there's still plenty of time left.

Did you guys enjoy it then?

o.0 must buy one piece mug.....

Looks interesting =) Do they have a proper cinema screen or just a big TV screen? I'd love to see ghost in the shell on really big screen... Barefoot Gen's manga is awesome, but I wonder if I would enjoy the anime, I mean, it's too sad. Ichi The Killer seems interesting....

Anyway, nothing really got me excited. so I might end up going earlier. Will let you guys know =)
