Help me pick out my next anime boxset!

Well as stunning as GITS SAC is and dont get me wrong its one of my all time faves I think Paranoia just edges it in terms of sheer originality and smarts.
BUt certainly buy one after the other either way.

They're two different types of show. Paranoia Agent is more of a black comedy/social commentary and Stand Alone Complex is a sci-fi cop show of sorts. I guess it's to what your tastes are because they are both fantastic shows.

Well, I really liked the first 4 eps of GitS (especially the second episode) and I've really enjoyed the Kon films I've seen so far. I think I'm going to go for Paranoia Agent first - as that seems to be the deeper series.

Okay so, I've actually decided to get GitS: SAC 1st GIG instead! Heh, it was cheaper and has 26 eps and the world of GitS is one I really want to get into!

Anyway, thanks for the help! I hope I made the right decision! ^_^

Hmmm well there are so so many to choose from, im guessing you like the fantasy/sci fi side of anime sooooo. Umm.

I'd recommend Gunslinger Girl for animation in that is just so smooth coupled with the italian vibe. Despite its name it hasnt got all that action in it though, instead focusing on the reprucussions of having pre-pubescent girls employed as assassins.

My only foray into the vampire genre is Blood+ (which conveniently was the first anime series i'd ever watched all the way through) it looks absolutely fantastic though it does drag on somewhat, they could have easily compressed those 50 odd episodes into 30 ish i thought. Despite this though its a I.G production so you know the animation is top notch and i thought the storyline was a nice twist on the usually oversaturated vampire genre. The movie that its based off Blood: The Last Vampire is absolutely stunning in visuals (if a little lacking in length or plot but thats where the series takes over)

But in terms of just having some good anime recommendations i'd go here
