Hello I was wondering if those who have seen Gunslinger Girl can tell me if it was any good also what are your fav Anime series or movies.

Thanks everyone.

Though I cannot personally fulfil your first request, here are some reviews of the show which might be of some use.

As for your second, quite a few people here seem to have their MyAnimeList profiles as their personal websites. Having a look at some of them might give you an idea of what people are fond of.

Everyone loves Gunslinger Girl so I'd assume it's worth checking out.

If you're new to anime, it's probably a good idea to start with the accepted classics of the medium: Evangelion, Fullmetal Alchemist, Cowboy Bebop, etc.

Gunslinger Girl is nice little drama series. I liked it a lot. I was worried about it being mindless, action-oriented rubbish before watching it, the title having given me a bad feeling, but it turned out to be a gem.

I'd recommend you stay away from the second series, though. It had no budget, vastly inferior art, poor choice of colours and average direction. One to avoid.

As for recommendations, look at my MAL profile and watch all the 9-10 anime. Problem solved.

Gunslinger Girl: I've not seen. Dunno.

Favorite Series: Ghost in the Shell/ Death Note/ Witch Hunter Robin/ Bleach

Favorite Movie: Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence/ Sword of the Stranger/ Appleseed (2004)

As many said before me, gunslinger girl is a drama series. If you're expecting action, look somewhere else. If you have seen the trailer, you watched most of the action scenes in the show, if I recall corectly.

The focus of the series is the interactions between the girls themselves and the firls and their fratellos ("brother").

I've also noticed hints of fear of growing up , uncertainty and so on. The last two episodes are beautiful, but I heard that the second series ruins it all from more people than just Aion, so I guess that mus be true.

I'll watch the second series eventually anyway, out of curiosity, but it's far from the top of my list though.

There is even a link to download it, I might watch this sooner than I expected. They also have a couple episodes of the first series as well. You might want to take a look squishy.

The download links are only viable if you live in the states, as i tried it out when i started watching Blue Gender on there, still at least the vids aren't region locked like i once thought

That's true. In the world of digital streaming, Funimation are 'the good guys'.

Not seen gunslinger girl, i some how forgot about it after watching a few episodes.. but.. as you seem to like bleach here are some action animes you might like:

Elfen Lied
Fate / Stay Night
Rurouni Kenshin
Burst Angel
Hunter x Hunter

Oh and I'm changing my site to MAL same as everyone else has so you can look there too..

Gunslinger Girl is one of my most favourite animes ('tis in my top 3 list) and it is my most favourite manga series.

It is a very emotional and epic anime series with beautiful animation and music. It was quite awesome to see young girls with guns shooting terrorists but I liked this anime more as it concentrated on the drama mainly. I adore anime's with good drama. Yet it can be quite depressing to watch too and, sufice it to say, it is not the most happiest anime that there is..nonetheless it is definitely one of the greatest, according to me.

I would also highly recommend that you read the manga too, as the anime series itself only covers volumes one and two of the manga alone, out of six (currently). Although the further that one gets into it, it does get more upsetting with some horrible chapters which really makes one think about our world and the people in it.

I am probably one of the greatest fans of this anime in the United Kingdom, if not the world. This, along with Elfen Lied, are two of my favourited series' as they are quite similar in terms of depressing and amazing stories and drama.
