ok i love this series i love the ova its funny, gothic, bloody, naughty, and those accents are on the mark. the ova is a 10 episode series with 40-50 mins the 10th will be out 2012 so we'll have to wait and see. the other series was good but not as fantastic as the ova
by the way twlight and vampire diarys are nothing compared to hellsing. vampires are blood sucking demons not sex fantasys for a 17 year old tart thats playing her cards right and has two men.

I enjoyed the first few episodes of the oav, but I never caught number 4 and I got fed up with it after 5. I'm not that familiar with the manga beyond the first volume, but the oavs have been pretty light on story and it feels like it's just turning into gore for the sake of gore. Ep5 in particular felt more like an extended 'excrement hitting the fan' montage than anything else.

I know the list of things that were wrong with the first tv series is as long as your arm, but I think I still prefer it over the oav. The story was more fleshed out and I thought Seras's attempts to hang onto some semblance of humanity made her a more interesting character than the killer doormat we get in the oav version.

I have to say, from what I've seen thus far 1-4 were the best pretty much in decreasing quality too (Though Alucard crashing onto an aircraft carrier with an SR-71 was badass) the ones since have just devolved into war without much plot. I think Hellsing Ultimate 1 is my favourite just because of the Alucard vs Anderson fight.

I'd have to say that was my opinion of the Manga as well, so it isn't anything different there. The second half of the Manga just turned into a plotless and mindless bloodbath though it had one great scene with Seres being immense (Those who have read it will know what I mean) It was a shame, especially with all the criticism of the original Anime not following the plot.

The original Anime I didn't think was that bad. Completely different plot from the Manga of course, but at least it didn't go completely insane. That said some of the voice acting was awful!

I'm being very patient with this and not watching any until the last one is out. I don't like the massive gap between each part. It's bad enough with Gundam Unicorn, where I can barely remember what happened before, so I'm waiting until I can see it all more-or-less together.

im up there with you dude but what i do is i watch one then wait for the next one to come out then watch the first one again then watch the second and wait for the 3rd then ect
 
The OVAs are a million times better than the TV series, more violent, more accurate to the original plot, same VAs (which is good imo) and artistically looks much nicer, if only other shows go for this approach.

Regardless of the version, it is the best vampire show out there, ever.

Really don't like Hellsing to be honest, its just a boring uninspired vampire story that has little else apart from gratuitous violence and gothic-ish designs.

I originally watched some of the original TV series, I didn't particularly like it but I didn't particularly hate it either, it was just very mediocre. But what I've seen of Ultimate I actually dislike more than the original show. It's just nothing but brainless violence with some occasionally rather disturbing scenes.... needless to say,I stopped watching it after not very long.
