Hi everyone!

Just thought I'd say hello. I'm not technically new - but I haven't posted here for a few years and was out of the anime scene for a while.
I'm probably a bit out of touch with the new anime series/seasons that are currently running, so be gentle :P But I'm slowly but surely going through the backlog of old DVDs I have! (Better late that never as they say!)

It's good to be back!

What are you watching at the moment?

I'm currently watching Madlax at the moment but plan to go through the backlog of my collection such as El Cazador de la Bruja, Ergo Proxy, Devil Lady to name a few. I've looked at some current anime releases but I think the progressive moe artstyle over the years has put me off some potential titles a bit!
 
Welcome back. There's plenty of non-moe stuff out since 2005... although you did mention el cazador which if I'm not mistaken is from 2007.... Does things like Durarara! and Bacanno appeals to you?

That is quite the backlog - El Cazador de la Bruja is being released as a S.A.V.E collection in July (I have it on preorder).

You are correct, El Cazador de la Bruja is probably the newest anime title I own!

I'll have a look at the other titles you mentioned :)

I think most of us have be hit by buying something only for it to be rereleased cheaper or for it to go in the sales soon after.

I purchased the Region 4 Bunny Drop DVD set recently only to hear that NISA are going to release a Blu-ray/DVD combo set in August.

Welcome back Neptune! It's been a good long while since i last saw you here. Tis nice to see you back.

As for some of the new season, i think that's the same kind of idea that put me off watching some new seasons as well for a good while as well. I ended up instead watching more older series this year like Escaflowne, planetes, etc. But if you look closely enough, there are some series which stand out. Lupin III has a new series for example which is well worth watching if you like the series in general.

Yeah, I'm going to try some of the newer anime and see how it goes. Going to be a slow 2 weeks until I get my last exam for this semester out of the way then I can finally go back to enjoying my anime backlog fully again!

Hah, yeah. I managed to work my way up the ranks. Ryo followed me on the way though, so he's here as an admin too. ;p

Uni exams stopped me doing anything as well, final year was hellish with the dissertation, but was good to finally get stuck into gaming/anime after that.
