Have you come to terms with reality?

and frankly more and more science is starting to hint at this being a possibility, "Energy can neither be created nor destroyed, but can only change form" as they say.

That is a gross misinterpretation of that scientific law. Everything in science suggests that there is nothing supernatural, and life after death is a supernatural notion.

I freely admit to having Thanatophobia (fear of death) and would much prefer to live forever if I could. I know a lot of people would say "but then you would have to watch everyone you know die" but if I was immortal I would have enough time to get over it.

Only problem with that is that i bet watching the planet get consumed by the sun would hurt a lot :p plus you would be bored stupid by the end of everything.

Me I'm not so much scared by death, i mean everything has to have an end, nothing was meant to last. Give a couple thousand years after mankind has gone and i doubt there will be any traces that we were even here.

Still no point in thinking about it that much, death is just one of those things we have little control over, we'll never get rid of it completely

Ah but you'd have time to devote to building a spaceship so you could get out of here by then. :p This might sound odd, but really I think there's too much information to ever get bored. You could just keep learning stuff until you knew everything.

Then you would be God.

If you ever managed to learn everything that is, because you can start learning skills such as getting a perfect score in all guitar hero songs =D
