Haruhi Light Novels to get english release.

According to ANN The Haruhi Suzumiya Light Novels are to finally get released in english as of April next year. Its mentions that according to Publishers Weekly, Little, Brown Books for Young Readers will publish them.

This has got to be some of the best news i've heard in ages, i adore the light novels and being able to own them is awesome. First FMP, and now Haruhi.
 
As I read that news on ANN, I couldn't believe it. I'm obviously getting the Hardcover editions. If you read these, When they start to get released this time next year - You'll seriously start to understand the fandom that is Haruhiism. Daym, I can't believe I have a year to wait.

Next Year, Should be the year of Haruhi (Haruhi II, Probably continuing its airing from fall, Yen Press releasing the manga (Yen Press are guuud) and finally the novels). Never heard of Little, Brown books but I hope they do a good translation and it looks to be a good release, no matter how far away it is.

It's been WAY too long.

This is going to be a powerful release, from a powerful US publisher.

It seems they have not operated in the UK before, although I guess they publish worldwide, or something.

Also, it's being released in hardback and paperback versions. :wink:
 
Yeah, i'll be purchasing the hardback releases methinks, but it'll be a good release none the less. Just a year to wait then.

CitizenGeek - The anime is pretty good, and if you decide to invest in the novels as well, you'll probably adore them as well, they are brilliant.

Someone with sense! I only care about the FMP novels. I'm also slightly interested in the Zero's Familiar novels. Couldn't care less about Haruhi either way.
 
The "Heroes" part of the "Hannah Montana meets Heroes" is okay. Then I checked out who Hannah Montana is, and it's some kids cartoon, with lots of pink. That's NOT what Haruhi is, and I'm getting that niggling feeling that this might end in tears, with editing it around to suit an American audience. If that's the case then anime/manga fans will ascend the firey cliffs of hell and come hunting the HQ of Hachette Group USA. *nyah!*
 
I totally disagree with both the Heroes statement and the Hannah Montana statement. Hannah Montana is a Live Action show, by the way. Its about a girl who's a singer. I don't think its going to affect the translation and overall the release. They are two massive titles in the USA today and they are just trying to get some of their fame to shine onto Haruhi.

I still think its sensationally wrong to compare two American Live Action shows with a Japanese novel. ;/

Haruhi would sort've relate to the HM demographic, In Japan. However sad it may be to say. Its base story is a Sci-Fi, Comedy, Romance - That is, of course, unless you dig deeper into it.

In comparison to the novels, the anime series isn't as good by far. The novels are far more interesting. i don't find them as good as the FMP novels admittedly but they are still definitely good.

By the way i may have asked before, but which novel of FMP is your avatar from maxon?

I'm not sure. I found it in my FMP images folder and thought it looked rather cool. I haven't even looked at my second novel yet, so there's a chance it's from there.

From what i know its not the second one, since i've read through it but oh well, i'll wait and see anyways as i go.
