Many UK anime fans often lament the lack of art-boxes to hold our DVDs, yet times appear to be changing with yet another art-box on the horizon! Complimenting their acclaimed Escaflowne Collection box-sets, Beez appear to be planning a UK art-box for the popular .Hack//SIGN series.

Coming attached with the final (seventh) volume of the series; this art-box also includes a .hack mouse pad, Mimru figurine and a documentary about the '.hack' universe. Set for release on the 28th of February, Play.com are selling it for £30. You can also buy the seventh DVD volume of .hack//SIGN seperately for £15- also released on 28th February.

In other Beez related news, Cowboy Bebop Vol. 1 has again been delayed. According to their UK distributors Pinnacle; both Vols. 1 and 2 of Cowboy Bebop will be hitting the UK on the 24th of January.

Oh My God!! An artbox! And to cap it all, its from Beez! Too bad its for a series I have no interest in, but its still a great sign. Looks like Beez are finally delivering the goods! A bit strange to tack it on with the last volume, but good nonetheless. Shame about Bebop though.

I hope when Beez bring out the box set of the whole series that all that stuff is still in there, I would have got the individual volumes but I saw the whole series on fansub.

So it's good news and bad news. Bad being further delays to CB coming out, good being there won't be a long wait for the second volume.
And now there's the added possibility of a snazzy box with the last volume!
Still, I'm not goin to get too excited until I have them in my hands...

Art box set well im getting this. It seems beez is only the company that brings art boxsets out but we can hope other companys will join in.

MVM have brought out a couple of boxsets, and Manga did the Fist Of The North Star one not too long ago. ADV have done boxsets for Evangelion and Hellsing, although technically they might be bricks.

If you're talking about high-quality artboxes (with extra items etc) though, it's definitely something we need to see more of in the UK.

Don't forget MVM's Yu Yu Hakusho art box with LE items (I think it may actually come with a t-shirt!)

I'm really chuffed with this news. I'm just hoping they are planning something similiar for their releases of Cowboy Bebop and Wolf's Rain.

In terms of anime releases and mainstream success, I generally see the UK as being constantly 2-3 years behind the US. I expect that sooner or later, the likes of ADV and MVM will start doing LE art-boxes. If Austrailia can handle it- why can't we?
