Guys, tech question!!!

I got my new laptop today, I'm pretty happy with it... except for one problem!

Everything works smoothly, but after about 5 minutes, the sound coming from the laptop completely stops. No sound from Youtube videos, iTunes songs, anything. Even the little sounds you hear when you open/close a program stop working.

I restarted it a few times and the problem just repeats itself - works for a few minutes before stopping.

The sound card is up to date and is working fine. Nothing is muted, and the volume for everything is up.

Tech Wizards, I summon thee!

(I'm not the most compatible person with computers, so as little techno lingo as possible please >_<.)

Much appreciated!

have you checked whether it works plugging head phones into it. plus see if there's any updates or patches for the make of your sound card to the OS your using, which is usually the case for snitty windows

I told him that on msn, lol.

No sound coming through head phones >_<. I updated restarted it before and took a few updates on board. Am I supposed to do this again? Because there's no notice saying "New Updates available". I think everything's up to date.

i had same problem with my PC last year, turned out to be a system glitch that turned off the volume, i had to take it to a repair shop in the end, check all the advanced volume settings is my advice

I had the same problem years ago. It's just a small problem.
Some laptops need configuring, once turned on the system runs a series of system checks....anything it finds will be automatically connected, even for a short time, however some machines need you to configure the soundcard to the system. this can be done in your control panel.

thats as simple as i can put it.

If you want talking through it i'd need to know what OS your running.
