Also, been watching The OC again recently and there's been mention of the great Akira vs Ghost In The Shell debate and that someone "looks like the guy from Fullmetal Alchemist".

I also watched the first episode of Everwood ages ago and the kid wore a Ranma 1/2 t-shirt, IIRC.

that is kinda true, it airs at 11pm if i recall, only watched it once, it was fairly good

Most Anime/Manga in Japan aren't that mainstream either really apart from a few examples like One Piece, Dragon Ball, etc.

IT Crowd is quite popular show with the current series its fourth and a fifth series already commissioned.
