greatest game vote......

BBC Radio 1 is holding a gaming weekend. Part of it includes holding a poll for the greatest game. I have provided the link below,

http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio1/biggamesweekend/

Have to say I was a bit disappointed not to see any games from the Amiga. For me it was either Final Fantasy VII or Resident Evil IV. I ended up voting for Final Fantasy VII as it was the game that got me interested in JRPGs.

What is everyone else voting for?

Note that the vote closes at noon on Monday 25 May 2009.

Voted Shadow of the Colossus. I was tempted to vote FIFA to be spiteful after seeing they included Tekken and Tekken 3 but not Tekken 2, then realised I had a higher purpose in life.

I voted for Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, as it is probably the best game i have ever played. I was tempted to vote for Advance wars as i do think that doesn't get the recognition it deserves, but OoT took me.

 edit: although it is funny how Street Fighter II and IV are there, but not III, also, although that does make a bit more sense from a massmarket popularity point of view.

I have selected the only correct answer on there, Sensible World Of Soccer.

It was a hard choice for me but I voted for The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time out of Pokemon red and blue and Metal Gear Solid

Half Life II. Well it's the best FPS ever.

I was disappointed to not see any Baldur's Gate or Total War games on the list though.

It's between FFVII and Super Mario 64. Those two games continue to inspire fond memories after so many years. Shadow of the Colossus is also amazing, though...

No brainer of course. But with Roman Numerals? Shocking. It's Half-Life ^2 :p

And it's going to get out-voted by a Halo game in three, two, one...

And joining us next on Radio 1, the ever-hip Status Quo.

As I expected that list is made of fail. It's even worse than a GameFAQ pole.
*immature snigger*

There is no FFVI. This displeases me.
Yes. Damn them for not including a game that was never released here when it was actually new.

I have to beg to differ on this poll guys. Sure it's going to end up upside-down, but for them to even put games like Ico or Shadow of the Colossus on there is actually remarkably perceptive.

Now I'm paranoid. I'd normally just call it Half Life 2... At first I thought it must have been written like that in the poll and I'd subconciously picked up on it, but now I've voted I can't see the list any more.

Perhaps it was because I was scanning for games with Roman Numerals in the title: Baldur's Gate II, Medieval II, etc. Thinking about it, it should end with a II. All the best games clearly do.

Roman numerals are for beardy weirdy titles :p Blockbustery action type games get good old Arabic numerals. I suppose Half-Life's superscript two allows it to tread the line, as a blockbustery action game with a beardy weirdy protagonist.

LOL i dont even know if MGS is there, but i presume they should have it...otherwise that voting thing is the WORST

Voted for FFVII, although it's strictly speaking my third favorite game (behind FFX and well behind FFXII). It's obviously going to either Ocarina of Time or FFVII that wins this, right?

I always figured love of Zelda games was an americanism. I've never had a friend who rated them very highly.

That's very true actually. Zelda doesn't sell nearly as well in Japan or Europe as it does in the US. It'll probably be FFVII, then, and rightly so!
