Japanese anime powerhouse GDH (GONZO) have recently been in touch with us to spread the word that their first theatrical movie "Origin-Spirit of the Past" (Japanese title: Gin-iro no kami no Agito) has been "nominated for the best film prize in the long film section of the 30th Annual Annecy International Animation Film Festival."

Gonzo have a pretty good track record in my opinion. Not everyone liked some of their efforts, and admittedly the animation was sometimes slightly cheap. However, it will be interesting to see how they manage with a film budget.

I always thought Gonzo animation was some of the best around, sure I remember reading that a few times and it just a given that each show they did would look great, even if the plot was lacking!
