Shounen jump really really funny.

The manga in japan first vol sold over 1millon copies and was top 10.

It's a futuristic 1860 when aliens invade earth take it over and ban holding swords in public making samurai's obsolete.

It based around 1 character kintoki with 2 people who have chosen to follow him he is a jack of all trades and will do anything,the characters go from old lady landlord,ugly cat girl,to odd penguin like thing with hairy legs.

Kintoki is a mid twenties sugar addict/shounen jump addict who uses a special wooden sword which he buys of shopping channels
with the spirit of a samurai.
Shinpachi glasses wearer of any anime which all he can do is wield a sword,who has a psycho sister who only makes burnt omelette's.
Kagura a member of the universes strongest race who doesn't like sun light,has a hobby which is eating.

It's a comedy,parody,sci fi,action so on.
The name in itself suggests it's not serious gintama=kintama(golden balls)

Very funny has no real plot for 50 episodes full of parodies mainly bleach with kon popping up in the beginning of a lot of episodes!

Ah you should theres some screen caps of it in the screen cap forum of ep 50 ah it's so funny.

Though its only been subed to ep 29 well ep 33/37 were subbed but with really small subtitles.
 
Its nothing like FLCL or Azumanga Daioh is it? I really dont like the whole crazy, wacky, bouncing off the walls thing.
 
Not really the main chacter is more calmer with morals(still crazy).
You can follow it easily well it does get a little stupid at times hard to describe you'd probably have to watch the third episode to get any idea.
 
I love this series, the comedy is basic slapstick and the characters are really funny especially the puppy. I love the side characters too like Zura and the gorilla guy, the police who try to kill each other, and of course the nuts prince who collects dangerous animals
 
I've been recommended it by a certain someone. [You know who you are.] So I'm going to pick up on the anime fairly soon, I've been meaning to check up on it anyway since it's been in JSS/JUS.
 
Gintoki is awesome, you can't beat a hero with high blood pressure that reads Jump. I saw to around episode 20 I think but then lost track of it, I may have to catch up though seeing as I've heard there is a parody of Densha Otoko (which I adore).
