Giant Robo

I've heard a lot about Giant Robo, how it's one of the greatest anime OVA series ever made, and I was wondering if anyone here has seen it and if it is indeed as good as the "old school" fans make out?

Nothing can live up to that kind of hype, but it's quite cool little series which is well worth watching if you like retro-style robot action with classic (read: cheesy) storylines.

Some great action animation in there, it's one of my favourites.

I vaguely remember watching bits of it on the Sci-Fi channel a few years ago. I don't think it was my type of anime, but I might rewatch it just to see how it matured.

If you like it, check out MazinKaizer too. Great retro-styled anime, somewhat in the same mold too.

Well, I loved every second. It can be a little OTT in places, but it's such a well written, not to mention lovingly crafted, series that you can't help getting swept up in the spectacle.

Considering, you can pick the series up for just over a tenner I see no reason not to invest in a copy. I don't think you'll be disappointed.
