Sheer and utter violence. I didn't really see the appeal behind Xbox 360 (or any of the next gen hardware for that matter) but GoW looks set to be their Killer App. Forget Halo 3, Gears of War has just stolen its thunder and used it to crack open Master Chief's ribcage.

Why damnit WHY?! Why is it that I can't get a sci-fi action movie that looks as purely violently kick-ass as this does? And I NEVER use the phrase kick-ass, but this justifies it. It'sa bit like Black hawk Down (the film not the game), at closer ranges with power armour and aliens. And more apparent violence, though that would've been hard to believe at first.
Oh, and apparently the standard battle rifle comes equipped with its own melee attack. Which happens to be like a bayonet. Only it's not a bayonet. Watch clip 4 and you'll see what I mean.
