Games Companies, Have You Ever Had a Fight with Any of them?

Heres a Simple Question, I'm Sure I'm Not the Only one.

I got Naruto Rise of A Ninja for the XBox 360, Brand New, Day of Release, Not out of Wrapping. I Took It Home And Proceeded to play it, However it became very clear I wasn't gonna have an easy time playing it. So Much So that It Ended Up Stopping & refusing to play for Me.

So I Tried to bring it Back to Game Where I bought it & they Said Contact UBIsoft, as it was their problem. So i proceeded to contact Ubi via the helpdesk system, no helpdesk No.

So For The Last 2 Weeks I Have Had a Fight with them around a replacement. They Claimed to have Called me & I said I Dropped my Xbox over the Phone, which:

1 - Is Completely false, They never Called & the Xbox Has never Been Dropped
2 - Even if they had of called I would never have openly admitted That it was dropped

So Today i got a reply of, yes We can replace it but we need a £10 cheque.

So anyone had a similar experience or ever just felt the need to pick a fight with one of them

dude that really sucks! ubisoft should trade it for free...they make up these excuses just to get more money out of ya so in the end you'll probably pay more for it...which shop did you buy it from cause i work in retail and they should be able to trade it..don't think you can refund it cause of copyright or something

as he said, Game :p

but yeah, i'd check my trade and consumer rights, if a product is faulty, the store in question should swap it then sort out the product themselves

even us lazy asses in Argos do that much XD

the only think can really refuse to do is give you a refund such is the world now with ppl copying games

I've never realy had an arguement. There was one time I bought a game soundtrack from an indie shop, realised it was a fake, and went to return it in perfect condition, sealed. The guy at the till acted like he didn't know it was a fake, and I pointed out to him exactly how I knew it was (anime bootleg 101). So he gave me a refund, but then said "Keep in mind... if you want the official one you'd need to £30!", showing he knew it was fake all along.

It used to be one of my favourite shops, and though I was suspicious about the CD before I bought it as I thought I could trust them. I'd bought soundtracks before. But it soon became far too clear how they managed to expand their soundtrack collection exponentially. They've started doing wallscrolls, too. Really cheap quality. Again, I used to buy official scrolls from them, so I'm disappointed. I don't know how many people they're ripping off that are none the wiser.

you could always go to trading standards and report of fake and copyrighted merch...if you really hate them
i don't really shop at game cause they are too expensive...hmv is cheaper..heck even forbidden planet just find sommat on the net which shows your rights, print it off and shove it in their faces see what they say then!

I've had some arguments in my time!!!

EA!!!!!!!!!!!
Right... My old PC exploded about 4months ago so I haven't played any of my PC games since. The other week I went out and bought a kick ass PC I'd been saving for and went to install my games.

I'm a BIG fan of online multiplayers rite, at the time I was very big on Battlefield2 and Battlefied2142! Your statistics are kept on-line (so the infomation isn't lost) but surprise! My Captain staus was back down to private and I lost all my weapons and extras.

If this wasn't bad enough, the add on packs cost me £10 each off the net (you download them). Before my PC went up you could download theses expansion packs for free BUT NOW!! You can only download for 10 days after buying so I lost all my Expansion Packs too!!!

DAMN YOU EA!!!!!!! DAMN YOU STARIGHT TO HELL!!!

.....I'm working on my anger issues and getting my stuff back from EA :)

Not really a games company (or a fight really, but whatever...), but Play.com refused to refund me for my 360 that died after six months. Which y'know, as a retailer, they should.

Loads of phone calls, a letter of complaint and about six weeks later, and I had my money back and a new console from Argos.

hang on did you even buy it from argos or did you throw a paddy and got lucky

Actually from the sound of it, they got their money back from play.com and then got the console again from Argos, hopefully this time without the three red lights

I'm not implying anything :p I've got a lot of reliable stuff from argos, though i thought that if your 360 broke you simply got microsoft to sort it out for you, not the actual retailer, afterall there was a large problem with faulty 360s coming off the manufacturing line.

I thought that Microsoft repairs were the way to go. I'm a bit surprised that play.com refunded Aaron as from the retailers point of view he effectively got 6 months use of a console for free...

Reckon Game should've replaced that Naruto game straight away though.
