Im unsure if this has been brought up yet but while searching Play.com i found a listing of the fullmetal alchemist season 1 boxset. However there is no date or price on it as of yet.

Think you'll be in for a wait (I'd guess june/july at the earliest as the final part and movie should be out by then).

Season 1 implies episodes 1-13 to me which would mean about 3 boxes in all. The current offer on hmv for discs 1-8 for £4.99 each is good enough for me as I can't be bothered to wait. :) (they've not got them in stock yet though, think it's been delayed until next monday :( )

It's cool that Revelation are doing lots of boxes. Just so long as they don't undermine the single releases (like Manga often does) all is good!

Really? Is that in-store or online? At that price, I'd consider replacing all my MVM releases with Revelation.

(That link doesn't work btw)

They've gone up to £7 each, but still not bad. Not cheap enough for me to buy the series all over again though! =P

Fair enough, it's weird that the price would go up over night though. Hopefully the Season boxes will be cheap enough for everyone to get a piece of the action!

Excuse me while I do myself over for all the money I wasted on the individual DVDs.

Can I help....

But seriously, who knew we're getting the box set, American doesn't even have a box set.

I'm thinking Revelation are more interested in doing Box sets than individual releases, which is a gift given by the Anime gods...

This suggest that they might be getting one in the near future though.

A boxed set from FUNimation in the US was always a given due to the popularity of the series but their policy is to not release a boxed set until at least a year after the full release regardless of the initial sales. Revelation is releasing these boxed sets now for very much the same reason as the rest of the industry is; the market for anime has matured a little and boxes are now viable. In previous years high-street retailers would not have carried them and those self-same retailers still account for the majority of sales for anime companies.
