The more I see of Highlander, the more I'm convinced it's going to be the greatest anime E-V-E-R!

Also, the Guyver stream is pretty damn cool. I checked it out and it streams well enough without taking you through any pointless registration crap, you just land straight at the start of the episode. A fine way to preview the series!

I swear I can remember Bravo showing Guyver films can anyone else?

I remember ADV said they were in negotiations with Bravo but the talks broke down.

Cheers Paul

Saw the first two eps of the Guyver series at Miniami con and I have to say it is an amazing looking series and one I will have to collect, I did find it a bit weird though that the 'company' find out that someone knows who the guyver is in ep one, meaning he pretty much has to work as body guard. But the rest of the monster/armour story does rock.

As for Highlander, I have to say I am eagerly anticipating this release, the trailer makes it look like it will be a mixture of present and past stories which if done correctly can be a really effective way of telling a story, Gungrave pulled it off really well, plus I am a sucker for any series that has bloody sword fights in it.

Oh my, that's some piss poor quality on that stream right there, if that's how companies have decided to 'fight' (I'd say rival but that would be a real joke) fansubs.. they just lost

This isn't an attempt to combat fansubs but rather an attempt to provide a legal method of previewing an anime before buying it.

As far as Highlander goes, it is an okay anime with good action scenes but is let down by a very cliched plot.

Bought the Guyver DVD at the Expo and saw Highlander at the same place and was a bit disappointed in both.
Guyver's 1st episode is good, but it does descend in to a cheese fest fairly quickly (enemies either cannon fodder or ridiculously over powered, and running battles with lecture like conversations is so 80's).
Highlander, while keeping to the mythos of the Highlander movies fairly well, does seem to have had a check list of stereotypes, hooker with heart of gold, snot nosed street scamp (complete with ill sister), dark brooding hero, charismatic megalomaniac, lithe fem fatal. While the fights are kinda fun (especially the one with the 6 foot long chainsaw) it doesn't really feel new, nor does it really add anything to the pre-existing mythos.

According to Spong the first episode of Guyver is also on Xbox Live as well, only available to those in the UK.

I've just cancelled my order for Highlander after reading that the US release (and probably our release too) is the US cut with about 7-8 missing scenes that are in the Japanese version but has an extended opening to explain stuff that the Japanese version doesn't have. I hate when stuff like this happens, I'm hoping Manga's release has both cuts of the film or that they'll release the Japanese cut later (like the US, no idea why they didn't just release the Japanese cut to begin with, the director has been said to not even like the US cut ).
