Forum word filter discourse

Heh, the forum thread gives the impression Americans are not familiar with Jerome, this might be fun. Time to dust off the “days since Jerome p*ssed someone off” counter. Don’t let me down, man.

Also if Jerome can write “a*se” in an ANN article I think I should be permitted to write it here. Free the a*se, AUKN, it’s surely not considered any more offensive in the UK than “ass” and iirc for a decent amount of time a certain forum member used it as part of a nickname for me without censure, which I found amusing. Do all those historic posts now read ay****?
Still think using arse on ANN is lightweight. When I got my book reviewed by ANN they ended up writing the c-word. Still proud,

I notice Jerome used “freaking” a couple of times there, I think we all know what he meant since I have never ever heard a Briton use that term irl.

Also you wrote the word, Ian. Is it done, are we free to arse about again?

Personally speaking, I have no problem with arsing about. And while the ANN reviewer from the USA complained about my use of the c-word, my defense is I'll stop using it when Americans stop using the word "spastic" to mean clumsy.

Nothing wrong with the c-word, it’s a good, harsh Northern European word. I much prefer it to the clinical sounding Latin v-word or particularly the soft, childish p-word. The fact it’s considered any worse than the c-word for the male genitalia strikes me as just another form of sexism, frankly.

I hate the c-word. It's vulgar, offensive, and sounds very close to the word 'couch', and you can see how JD Vance got confused.

How many c-words are there?

It's basically blacklisted by advertising as far as I can tell, especially on Youtube. If YouTube detects you having said that when analysing the audio it completely demonetizes the entire video.

I know a couple of Youtubers who swear like sailors during the video, but if one person says the C word they have to specifically make note to censor that bit of audio before uploading it to Youtube otherwise the entire video is demonetised.

Now I understand why Limmy's attempt to simulcast his Twitch stream on YouTube only lasted a day.
