I'll be honest and say that considering their origins, both sets were convincingly put together with high quality cover art and printing, and in Bebop's case - even had animated menu options! Unless you know a lot about anime, it's very easy to be tricked. I imagine so many people out there think they've got this awesome collection of anime, without knowing that it sadly consists of bootlegs.

reminds me of Chaz comming downstairs boasting about buying the ikkitousen boxset for £10 only for me to point out "theres no such thing as a legal region 0 DVD" :D

then he fell for the same thing again buying the .hack//sing boxset ^^

There are legal region 0 DVDs but they are extremely rare. Case in point the US release of Shadowstar Narutaru is R0. I never figured out why but given that I bought my DVDs from various reputable retailers I am sure they aren't bootlegs with claims to legitimacy. I have been caught out by HK subs and bootleg DVDs in the past but have gotten wise to the key signs to look for.
