After reading both volumes of this (some time after I'd seen the OVA) I was left a little disappointed with it.
The artwork style wasn't a problem at all, which surprised me a little. In fact it was pretty cool, and there were only a few frames I really had to squint at to work out what was going on. The only problem was the storyline itself: it's been a while since I watched the OVA, but if a manga story has to rely on the reader having seen the anime that it's based on, something has gone wrong with the writing.
Maybe it would have benefited from being a volume longer perhaps, since the ending was a bit sudden (I think the common term for this is gain-axed ). I'll give the second volume another read, but even thouggh the anime was pretty random in places I think this was a wasted opportunity in places.
What did the rest of you make of it?
