Following the recent limited theatrical releases of Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection 'F' and Boruto: Naruto The Movie, the United Kingdom-based anime distributor Manga Entertainment has revealed a third consecutive month of cinematic releases showcasing the biggest brands in the industry. Make sure your walls are sturdy before decorating them with colourful Christmas lights, because they might be torn down with the December release of Toho Pictures' Attack On Titan Part 1.

Directed by the acclaimed special effects guru Shinji Higuchi, this live-action adaptation of Hajime Isayama's phenomenally successful dark fantasy manga topped the Japanese box office when it opened in August and is now set to give English fans a grim reminder when it opens in select cinemas on 1st December 2015. You can visit the movie's official website to find your nearest showing.

Animatsu marketing manager Andrew Hewson made the following comment regarding this anticipated release:

2015 has been an incredible year so far! We’ve seen fans across the UK share their love and passion for anime by racing to the cinema for Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection ‘F’ and Boruto: Naruto The Movie. But, the years not over yet and we are thrilled to be bringing this live-action adaptation of the incredibly popular franchise to cinemas. Prepare to experience the colossal action and horror of Attack On Titan up on the big screen.”

A month after its Japanese theatrical release, the movie was followed by the conclusive Attack On Titan Part 2: End of the World. Manga Entertainment previously released Wit Studios' critically acclaimed anime adaptation on home video and a second season is currently in production.

Shinji Higuchi is currently set to reunite with fellow Neon Genesis Evangelion alumni Hideaki Anno as co-directors of the upcoming Godzilla Resurgence reboot.

Re: First Live-Action

Ah, the first one of these I'm actually interested in. Now I just have to hope there is a showing relatively close to me. God I can't wait until the new fancy cinema gets opened in my town, I feel like it would be much more likely to get these kind of films than the small Odeon we currently have.

I'm thinking about going just wish they was more than one showing . the cinema i will go to the same place I need to go for Christmas shopping but I don't want to be carrying bags into the cinema .

Considering going, as it's only a 30 minute walk from where I live but I don't know ..bad reviews are putting me off.

If you're still located in Cornwall like your profile states (& considering the closest to you is the cinema closest to myself too!) I've been into Vue Cinema in Plymouth with shopping bags before & it was fine, they just did a check.

Yeah the Plymouth cinema is the one nearest to me . Its not that far from me just short train ride and a taxi . Maybe i will do my Christmas shopping and then go and see the film .

The reviews for part 1 just sounded like butthurt fans upset they didn't get something 100% faithful, part 2's reviews were not good.

I hate Levi with an absolute passion (and his spin-off OVA is the absolute worst for so many reasons), so anything without him gets an automatic yes from me...

You must have watched/read a different thing than me As they were amazing and the manga was awesome made me cry reading and watching him and he is awesome just wait for the uprising arc

I think it all depends on how much you like him as a character, and I do not. He is not awesome, he is not cool, he is just a wanker, so quite frankly binning him off was the best decision they could have possibly made.

(And concerning the OVA: Why would such a major concept as underground cities not be mentioned in the main series? Especially since much of AoT revolves around overcrowding and people dying from hunger, and underground cities could solve that entire problem. Also, killing the only two likeable characters the first time they saw any action did not ingratiate me to that OVA at all.)

They binned him as he is "german" and the AoT live action is in Japan also the underground cities are in AOT you just watched the OVAs too early in the storyline

AoT's cannon implies every single person in the story is Germanic (or at least not Asian). Except for Mikasa who is half-Asian, the human traffickers specifically say she's valuable because she is the last remaining member of her Asian tribe and Asian people are rare.

I'm sorry, but no. Why would anybody die of hunger when you could build an underground city and use the overground as farms? Like so much of AoT it makes no sense, and then Isayama's probably crowbarred in a **** explanation a few chapters too late...

I have to admit that I actually adore Levi and didn't like No Regrets at all. In the main series he's mysterious, cool and interesting. He's the same guy in the spin-off, and the art is nice, but I don't really enjoy watching him as a lead. I've only read the manga version though; not seen the OAV yet.

The OVA was pretty exciting and pretty much captured what AOT was about for me. From what I've heard about this, it seems pretty bad. Not a nice birthday present at all.

"Select cinemas" showing parts 1&2 together. Shockingly limited to a couple in the London area.

Still tempted to go and watch this out of sheer curiosity. I don't even think the original series is that good!
