Final Fantasy XIV Eorzea walkthrough

Square-Enix has posted a new walkthrough for their forthcoming MMO FFXIV on its Japanese YouTube channel. The game sure looks pretty. I didn't get on that well with FFXI, hopefully this one will be more accessible:

Don't get me wrong I'm still hyped for this game, but the graphics look incredibly bland, for example the textures on the cliffs and water have no reflections or lighting. I understand its probably still in alpha, but isn't this game being released this year? If so i hope they can increase some of the graphical capabilities of the engine.

Hate to burst your bubble but you do realise this is an MMO right? If most MMO's had good graphics then most pc's wouldn't run em.
 
I thought the graphics were good, because its Final Fantasy, but I get what afoia is saying. There's an awful lot of greys, blacks and browns involved in that world and that doesn't exactly make you jump and take notice. As for everything else? It looks incredibly boring, so, unless I'm going to be taken by surprised as more information comes up I'm going to be keeping my eyes only on DC Universe Online, thank you very much.

(DCUO will probably suck, though. *fingers crossed*)
