Does anybody know when or if this is getting a UK release? I can't seem to find anything about it :?:

well it's been lincesed by ADV, so there should be info on the main ADV amercain website.

But for release dates over here i'm not sure. it should be be distributed by whatever company it is that took over from ADV Londons' collapse

But this is a series i'm very interested in as well

Unless you have heard something I haven't it has not been licenced by ADV. This is one of many Geneon titles that are no longer available since they ceased distribution.

So far as I am aware no UK licensor has picked up Fate for UK release and the probability that it will be licenced is relatively slim at this point. At the moment the best bet for getting it would be to get the Australian version.

A shame really since Fate was a rather enjoyable series...

Actually it was Geneon, and to my knowledge there's no mention of a UK release (yet).

EDIT: Gawyn got there first : p.

crap! crap! damn I got it wrong AGAIN!!! didn't mean for the mix up. I think it's because I read it in last years newtype that made me think that it's ADV (though it's actually ADV that owns newtype :? i know)

any how though melonpan did mention about Geneon, merging with another company soon (we hope) so hopefully it won't be long until it comes out over here

possible on MVM, wouldn't it melon?

MVM would be the most likely suspect. I'd bet money on it. Though it remains to be seen how far it is down Tony's 'to sublicense' list.

Does anyone know how much the Australian version would cost? I've been looking into this show for a while now, i've come close to getting the R1 DVDs but at the time i didn't have the money :( and i love TYPE-MOON stuff

While I don't know how hard it is to obtain Fate/Stay Night on DVD since there is always some sites out there that have a little stock of it left, but I'd say the longer you leave it the more difficult it will be get the Geneon releases.

The australian versions will cost you a fair bit plus the excessive import rates that most of the importers charge, well at least the ones I've seen who stock these titles.

With regards to the R1 release you just cannot get hold of volume 5 for love nor money - they are literally like gold dust, and volume 6 can be just as hard though there are some still floating around. You shouldn't have too much difficulty getting hold of Vol 1 -3 if you want to risk trying to get hold of the rest sometime in the future but i really wouldn't hold my breath.

Ah thanks for that :) It sucks that the later dvds are hard to get, i've been hoping for a while that MVM picked up the series but at least the manga should be out soon enough (i hope)

This makes me sad

Tell me about it - i've been wanting to watch this one for a while now and everything I've heard about it has been good. Just wish I'd found out about the series a couple of weeks before I did as I know for a fact that some places still had them all in stock at that time - and at a fairly decent price.
If it had alone started its run over here before they went belly up like with Elemental Gelade - we'd have them all released by now.

Here's hoping someone brings them over some time soon.

Where? When? And How?

This is typical, when I had the money I spent nearly a month trying different sites and contacting suppliers and couldn't find anything. Though I will admit i didn't try the canadian eBay

From what i've seen those ones are legit R1 copies from before Geneon shut up shop though there are a few australian and non-legit copies floating around too. If you've got the money I suggest grabbing hold of especially considering the amazon marketplace have volume 5 and 6 at about £40-£60 each!
If the import charges had already changed I so be going after this one right now

I looked on Amazon earlier and someone wanted £118 for a volume 5.

Myself I bought them as they came out, so there they sit in the artbox on my shelf.

This Australian site stocks all six R4s, and at reasonable prices too. The downside is if you're a box whore, they charge like an extra £15 for the vol.1 w/artbox order. If you're desperate this is your best bet until a UK company (most likely MVM) get the license.
