Evangelion Platinum Thinpak

As far as I know they are thinkpak DVD cases with the disks housed in an artbox. The only difference between the standard version and the thinkpak is that it doesn't have any bonus features.

But is the product I've linked to the thinpak?

Also have they changed the dub drastically for the Platinum addition?
 
Yeah, the photos they have are of the thinpak and it's on 6 disks instead of 7 so it's safe to assume that's what it is.

They havent changed the dub at all. The platinum version is just a 5.1 remastering of the old dub.

So, is THIS a thin pack also? And, if this is the thin pack, is there a thick pack complete edition? Another question, are these the "shiny" boxes? :3

Yes, That is EXACTLY the same release as Ark mentioned. Its just a cardboard cover collecting together all the thinpack releases. No shinyness (If your thinking of the Platinum Collection Shiny, That is.. It may be hard to get a hold of. ADV seem to be selling it without, now)

Erm.. I don't understand, The Platinum Edition means a remastered A/V on the video itself. The packaging is something else. There is the ThinPack in R1 like, that. It looks like a Thinpack release might be coming for us R2 consumers. There are slso single R2 volumes like this. We did have the epic Platinum tin but that is know sold out/very rare to find.

I think that is all of the Eva Platinum releases.
 
The "shiny" one you're [probably] thinking of is this. This version comes with 7 disks all in a tinbox. I believe there's no difference between this and the thinpack other than this release containing extras, a tinbox and 7 disks.

I've mentioned this, but.. whatever. ;/ We got the Platinum tin before America, well before in fact. I don't see another one of them coming R2 any time soon, Especially from ADV...

...However, I'll be putting bets on that the next Evangelion release will in on Blu-Ray. I'll probably get it.
 
I wish I could get my hands on one, but when they were out, I was not here yet =( I do have a thick pack US release, which has been inherited by my nephew.
 
Eh? They are re-releasing it, sort've. Different inside... ;/ That looks pretty. Since I never actually got it last time, Even though I said I would so many times, I will get it this time.

It's basically the same tin set that I got last year, except the discs come in individual cases instead of in an art box, and I didn't get no art cards :/

In any case, it's a good buy, chaos! :]
 
Maybe i'll get round to picking this up this time around.
Its one that i definately want to add to my collection, but i have other expensive priorities...*coughHaruhicough*
