Elfen Lied question

They could but I can't honestly see how many fans of the series would actually enjoy seeing that. There are all too many series like that as there is what do we need another for?
 
I got this from ANN's Elfen Lied page and it seems relevant.

The Buddhist statue that appears at several points in the series, with what looks like a club/sword and a golden pomegranate in her hands (especially in ep 13) is Benzaiten (弁才天), originally the Hindu Goddess Sarasvati. She is one of the “Seven Lucky Gods,â€

im not ashamed to say that i cried at the end of elfen lied. the story line was soooo beautiful and the art is amazing. its my fave anime now and will b 4 a long time. :)

just to ask but was the manga series of elfen lied printed in english at all. im tryin to look 4 it but......no luk. :(

not sure on the english licensed part, haven't checked. However i can confirm it has been scanlated.

I want to see how they would go with the idea of Lucy living with them in the house.

While i would love another series i don't know how they could take it. They could either take it down the route of Lucy merging with Nyu's personality to become a normal person but the would loose two great characters. If they went the other way and kept Lucy with her split personality they would have to introduce new Diclonus for them to fight or what have you, which is possible since they are born naturally.

If i was being honest i don't really know what i would like them to do, i would say half and half would be my choice. Start of calm and everyone getting settled again and then move onto the more serious stuff. Unlike the first series where it hit the ground running.

I'd probably prefer to see a series of E.L. that shows a more post-active time where the Diclonius begin to eliminate much of the population. They did say in 5 years time, there's gonna be a lot of them = hell to pay!

Indeed, but instead of carrying on with the same characters I think a new cast might be more interesting maybe with some of the original characters as secondary.

I think it would work, a new generation of evil diclonius goes up against Lucy and Nana. Kouta would obviously be in the corner, head between legs and jaw on the floor...as usual. I could see it working over another 13 episodes.

You get the comedown period after the quickfire ending of the first series and tying up those questions your left with and then move onto the new thread etc.

maybe if there wa a new series somehow nyu could split from lucy and have 2 different beings?

and maybe they could introduce the other at least 32 diclonius from the research facility(3,7,35 already introduced)

Most were probably already "taken care off." And I would highly doubt the split is possible. It's a mental thing, like her vectors.
If it was to happen, it would need to be an invisable copy of one of them, and it would still be mentally linked. A simple scare and she goes "poof!"

The body split thing would never work, maybe if the genre was magic but not in Elfen Lied. i'm guessing Nyu is how Lucy would have turned out if her childhood was different, personality wise, not the whole knowledge of a 3 year old.

There is material left to go on, but its whether or not they could make something of a good enough standard. Love Hina Again springs to mind in a scenario like this, they have the oppertunity to do something with a series but then crap all over it for some extra money.

Really? From what I can recall,
Pretty much all the cast were still alive, at the expense of a large number of generic goons. The main cast were really Lucy, Kouta et al., and they were all still fine. In fact it seemed like a "happily ever after" ending to me.

but surely they can carry onto another series because of the ending on the first series. i mean i wonna know if it was nyu or lucy at the gate door thingy. i wonna know who it really is surly they cant leave it hangin like that.
and is the ova series bein dubbed over or not. i watched part of it on the internet but. i didnt really get what was goin on. :?

Lucy is the main character, Nyu is her split personality after she got shot in the head. While they do leave it on a small cliff hanger i don't think there are any plans to bring out a second series as much as i would like.

There is an english dub available on the region 1 and 2 DVD's but for once i prefer the sub for this. Although Kohta/Kouta however you want to spell it just bugs the crap out of me in both instances.
