More information about the forthcoming TV anime adaptation of the school otaku comedy series Ebiten: Kouritsu Ebi Sugawa Koukou Tenmonbu has been revealed before it gets its release when it will be streamed on niconico in July.





Synopsis

<em>Noya Itsuki has started his school year at Ebisugawa High School. Since he was always been fascinated by space, he decides to join the astronomy club: &ldquo;Tenmon-bu&rdquo;. Unfortunately he walks into the all girls otaku club which is also known as &ldquo;Tenmon-bu&rdquo; but written with different kanji. Noya has yet to realise that the club is more interested in anime than astronomy and finds himself surrounded by &ldquo;fujoshi&rdquo; who will make his life complicated.</em>

VA&rsquo;s involved in the project have been named: Noya is voiced by Mariya Ise (Ringo Noyamano in Air Gear), Kana Inugamu (Miya in Amagami SS+) voices club troublemaker Kyōko while Asuka Nish (Ursula in Bodacious Space Pirates) voices Hakata Kanamori. Ebiten was originally illustrated by Kira Inugami and written by Sukaji and the anime is being handled by AIC. So, let me get this straight... this would be your now increasingly run-of-the-mill otaku culture comedy crossed with your increasingly even more run-of-the-mill slighty-out-of-place main character joins a quirky school club... except that the main character is a josou-shounen and the club is otherwise composed entirely of fujoshi? I am there.

As I wrote the synopsis I kept thinking, "this is haganai and these girls are all facets of Rika's personality".
