For the last few weeks, East Asia TV, a TV channel slated to begin broadcasting in 2014 that will focus on all kind of entertainment from East Asia, has gained a lot of attention by hosting a poll on their website for users to submit ideas for what anime they want to air on the channel's launch night. Today, the company revealed in a tweet that they will be making an announcement regarding the timeline and schedule of their launch before the end of the year.

East Asia TV will be available on both Sky when it is launched, while recent comments on their Twitter suggest that they might be looking into broadcasting on Freeview and Virgin Media.

It's coming to Freeview? Wonderful!
I remember them saying on Twitter that it's confirmed, but their website makes it sound like they're merely looking into it. Updated to reflect that.

Honestly, this is all sounding a bit too ambitious for me to be excited.

Y'all know this is fake, right?

This channel is not launching. Unlikely it's gonna be launching on Sky. Definitely not gonna be launching on Freeview.

It's either some dude doing it for attention, or a bunch of media execs with no business sense.

Honestly, it would probably be a lot less damaging if it was just an elaborate troll. If this really is a serious venture, then they clearly have no idea how licensing works.
