DSi UK price and date confirmed

The effect the exchange rate has had on the price might force many people not to buy it. Nintendo are playing it safe, but I'd be surprised if it'll sell as well over here as it will in other countries.

i'm on the wall with the DSi really, on one hand i like the features they are putting in, but i don't like the fact they are region locking it and the lack of gba slot means that some games just won't work anymore.

I already have a PSP, so the multimedia features of the DSi don't really impress me. The camera isn't very appealing either. I can't imagine replacing my black Lite with a DSi any time soon, tbh.

I don't mind the idea behind the DSi, but if they wanted to lure me in for it, as someone who has GBA games as well, taking the backwards compatability away from it would easily put me off. Thankfully i still have my original bulky DS, so its not too bad.

Have to say I don't really see the point of the DSi either. I'm sure it will do brilliantly because Nintendo have the Midas touch these days but I won't be a customer in the near future.

Still perfectly happy with my first generation DS and with the region locking I don't think the DSi would really bring anything to the table. Until they release a DSi-only Phoenix Wright one day and force my hand :/

I gotta ask, since I only played the first one, do they stay consistently good? I started the second and it just doesnt feel the same. I do not like the introduction of Maya's Magatama thing. It seems like its 90% detective work, 10% Courtroom, and the Courtroom just doesnt seem as... good anymore??

If you care, i'm on the circus one.

Keep on at that one. If you don't find the last case epic, you are crazy ;)

The circus one did drag a bit (it felt like a filler episode) but the last case was one of my all time favourites. The third game also has some absolutely fantastic bits. I loved the fourth too, though I can see some people disliking the increased detective work in that and the cast changes.

I'm addicted to the series. They need to make them faster...

The region blocking only applies to the DSiWare not the DS Games BTW.

Yeah, but I have my DS already for those. Most of my current games are imports so region locking for the future just feels so backwards.

Way too much money for what is essentially a heavier NDSL with a few low quality cameras in it, I'll be sticking with my DS Lite rather than upgrading to the DSi

Think i'll echo most of you and say i'm sticking with my DSLite too. All I'm really bothered about using my DS for is to play games. If you want to emulate and add all kinds of other stuff then the PSP is already out on the market, I hear it's good for that at least even though the PSP doesn't have any games that particularly appeal to me.

Typical... straight after I buy my mum a DS Lite for mother's day, an updated version comes out.

I have the old-school Brick DS, hell yes. 8)

I have a DS lite which was bought me when it came out but I don;t think I'm going to get the new one.. doesn't see to be worth it for the amount I use it..
