Have been playing Kotor and noticed when it came to choices in the game i generally went for the options that most reflected my own personality. Generally Light side, or at least grey (not dark, but not light either). Same generally goes for any game where you have choices (Deus Ex, Bioshock, Neverwinter Nights etc). While i don't try to be choose the light side end up that way more due a collection of minor goods rather than specifically trying to go that way. Attempts to actively do the dark side path have proved unsuccessful as generally get board, and go to other characters.
Likewise i generally chose male characters. Not quite as exclusively as often the difference in mainly cosmetic and i prefer looking at a lady's arse running around.
Do you play as yourself or do you enjoy being someone else?

Yeah, I pretty much always name my characters after me. As for choices, I usually go for "most appealing" rather than "most likely real-life choice".

In role playing games like neverwinter nights 2 I couldn't be myself as I don't know how to use magic.

But I usually design the characters to look kinda like me, goatie, green hair, dashingly handsom (ok so thats artistic licence)

Never the two shall meet, ever. However, when I play an RPG like Oblivion I'll use my internet name sometimes, or my apparent Japanese name "Kaaru" and that's the closest it'll get to me.

Hehe yep im the same with the "Me Mk II" side of things, i try to be good but i'll be the first to admit that i'm prone to the occassional act of senseless bloody violence.

Then again i never go too far, for anyone who has played Fable, i tried the ultimate evil game (ive got a real ocd complex when it comes to 100%ing games) and one of the first evil missions is killing sparrows scattered around the tutorial level.

I just couldnt do it! Humans are at least capable of malice and deserve the odd stab/bludgeon but a harmless sparrow? Anyone who did that mission has no heart WHATSOEVER!

I don't tend to be myself in a game, usually giving the characters names that aren't mine, but i always tend to play through them as if it was me choosing, which usually means choosing the good options or in-between options. Thats about it though.

For Oblivion I tried to make my character look like Aragorn/Strider from LOTR, but when Home comes out I'll try and make the avatar look as much like me as possible, although the name will be my PSN (D1tchd1gger).

It varies A LOT for me. With the latest Pokemon game I had to re-do it somewhat 5/6 maybe 7 times. AND I ended up with Jamie. Pathetic isn't it.
