Do you keep tracker fo your anime collection?

There are a lot of people that have huges anime collection and I believe its important to keep track of it, of what you saw already or what you still have to see or buy maybe.

Do any of you keep some kind of track at all?

I have an excel file with all my dvds, nº eps seen in each, date that I've finished watching series and a few more data. I used to use dvdaficionado but its missing some pal titles in there so I kind of quit. Anime News Network let us keep tracker of what dvds we have too, but since its a usa site, its missing a few pal titles over there.

Are methods do you guys use at all?

Not at all. I know what I have, and I have a text file for stuff I need to buy (which is quite small as I preorder things).

I have a calendar diary and I just write release dates in it and tick off when I get them. I preorder a lot too but I tend to remember what I've got and what I've ordered, that's for anime and manga.
For what I've watched, I keep a list at the back of the diary too. I just hand write everything. Maybe one day I'll type it up, when I have time.
For manga, I keep up-to-date with ongoing series, and if I start a new one I make sure it's just one at a time until I catch up.

For Anime I'm mainly looking at the newish releases so I don't have to worry too much on that front

For Manga while again I do buy things as they are released it's a lot harder to track volume numbers so I have an excel spread sheet that I fill in every month with info from previews about what I want to order in 2-3 months time, once ordered I enter a date and once recieved I mark as recieved

In terms of what I'm watching I have become a creature of habit now after watching an episode it gets straight away marked on MyAnimeList.

In purchasing Anime terms it's mainly just in my head and regular checks of a release calendar. I split my Anime collection through different places, DVDs that need watching sit on the bottom of my shelf and watched stuff goes into a box under my bed, same for BD but due to it being smaller they just take up the top two shelves on another case, not really for memory per se but more for space saving, but yeah it does help.

I just use MyAnimeList for this. I just mark anime in the list as being owned on retail dvd and anything unmarked is what I still need to buy, and future releases just go into the 'plan to watch' section so I won't forget about them. Probably the most useful part of MAL, and the reason I use it instead of my own list on Excel or whatever, is the way it lists all ova's and special episodes seperately from the main entry for a series/movie, so I can tell at a glance if a boxset I own is missing anything.

I use something called a shelf to keep track of my anime collection ;)
Also a HDD and MAL when I can be bothered to update it.

Your collection must not yet be monstrously out of control then, it will come with time :D

ANN dont have all uk releases thats why im not sure building my list upthere. I see some anime in your list that dont have a link, did you had them by yourself or what?
What I used to do was use the direct US-equivalent and add an "R2 UK" note, or add manually otherwise.
Now I have access I have started adding UK releases properly, however it is a big job - you can't automatically pull from retailers like you can for US releases, I have to add everything manually (price, date, EAN, picture etc.) - hence why I've started building a spreadsheet to track release data.

Actually that looks very useful for me to use but like I said I have MAL but I could use this spreadsheet as a list of anime I want to get soo yeah Il do that

I do a manual spreadhseet that lists the following (for anime I buy DVD and BD, for live action and TV series I am only using this spreadsheet for my BD list)

Sheet 1: Anime Owned - Anime title, Company name, Format, Viewed (Y/N)
Sheet 2: Anime to buy - Anime title, Company name, Format, release date, Pre-ordered (Y/N)
Sheet 3: Movies/TV Owned - Movie/TV title, Company name, Viewed (Y/N)
Sheet 4: Movies/TV to buy - Move/TV Title, Company name, release date, Pre-ordered (Y/N)
