As a few of you may already know...Disgaea 2 was announced for release last year...its now mentioned to have a new original storyline, new main characters (with some from the original making an appearance as supporting roles...this looks to be a great game just like the first..but from what i have seen..there is no release date for the UK as yet, with the release in the US said to be around the summer...what is your thoughts on it?

Fantastic! Disgaea is a great great game with ooodles of wit,charm and splendid gameplay!

the whole space man storyline and the robby the robot lookilikey was soo funny. The sequal looks good too shame its not the same cast as the first.
 
All of the original cast are back!

Supporting roles, but they are there and you can have them in you team.

What interests me is the new legal system, heh, I don't mind having the oppertunity to bride a few senators while they are drunk!

Or the Prinny Assemble with Etna!

The juggle system, where one person carries another, and the gets carried, repeated to form massive lifting towers, is getting extra useful with combo attacks.

And the new animations and such for some of the older moves, and newer ones, looks awesome.

BTW guys, IMPORT! The PAL option, like all Nippon Ichi games, has the duel language, Jap/Eng, removed! Its one of the selling features of all Nippon Ichi games in America but we have a differant publisher over here which likes to save a few quid by dumping the game on CD's, not DVD's as was originally - the cost we suffer is having no option but listen to the (admittingly excellent) American dub.

You know, I never played the first Disgaea, and seeing as Disgaea 2 is out I'll probably get this as a Christmas present.

Has anyone completed this, or played it substantially and if so what is their verdict?
 
Got it, and will be planning to complete it tonight since i haven't yet..i should have though since i have had it for a month now :lol: , erm its a good game, story wise it feels slightly shorter than the first but its still got the same elements that the first one does, and more, and is still worth getting if you are into this style of game. If i was to rate it out of ten, i would give it about an 8.
As for the original cast, etna is one of the mains while Laharl and Flonne you have to get the court to let you fight them to get them into you group, much like the old cave of ordeals and alternate netherworld.

I've decided to buy this for Christmas. I'm actually getting it then wrapping it up so I can open it Christmas Day! I got a good feeling about this. I've heard its quite amusing too.
