devil may cry the manga

It's quite good, though the artwork does sometimes make it hard to figure out what's going on :P (could just be me i suppose) Shame that it looks like we'll never get volume 3 translated.

Have you read the Devil May Cry light novels by any chance?

I take it the manga follows a different story to the anime? I hope so either way, the anime was pretty poor.

Yeah the manga acts like a prequel to the third game, with the third volume being a retelling of the game itself. So nothing to do with the anime version at all

Glad to hear, I may check it out. I love DMC but the anime was a real let down, though I suppose the franchise has never been particularly original or substantial. I suppose I expected more because it was in Madhouse's hands.

I think we all expected more from the anime version to be honest, it could of been a fun anime to watch if it was more like the games, but oh well what can you do

They're good the first one is okay as an alternate take on Dante's orign (the third game replaces it completey and tells a much better story) the second one is way better, and would of made a better story for DMC2 instead of what they went with :P

Did anyone else wonder what the hell capcom were thinking putting 2 disks in DMC2? "use a different character" personally i think the game is good, it has the dark menacing theme down to a T, its just....dante lacks so much character in the game and bringing in another character said to me "hi, we tried to live upto the first game but sorta couldn't, so decided we'd give you another character to play with to make up for it"

Then again, having one team develop and make the 1st, 3rd and 4th games annd having a different team creating the 2nd game maybe wasn't the smartest move.

I'd rather read the manga, Im not a massive book fan myself.

Techincally they are light novels then proper novels as they have pictures every few pages or so  Still wish Tokyopop had decided to finish off the manga instead of leaving it hanging

I always see this manga on the high-street, and it's always looked very cheap and unoriginal to me. I guess I was wrong though?
It's Devil May Cry, you stick to the games, the stories are shallow and non-existant and a manga thrives on story-telling which is what DMC severely lacks.
