As expected December is a really quiet month of the UK community, though there are several releases I'd consider essential purchasing...

Full Metal Alchemist #3 (MVM)
Last Exile #7 (ADV)
Planetes #3 (Beez)
Planetes #4 (Beez)
Wolf's Rain #2 (Beez)
Wolf's Rain #3 (Beez)

Beez are the champions for December then! :)

Most definitely, in fact I'd go as far as to suggest they've ruled the roost this entire past year. In terms of giving the fans what they want only the humble MVM have come close -- Cowboy Bebop, Witch Hunter Robin, Wolf's Rain, and Planetes -- that's four bonafide modern anime 'classics' right there. Fingers crossed they'll capitalise on this wonderful start and tide us over with plenty of great titles next year too. :)

I love how there's more than just English and Japanese dub tracks on the Witch Hunter Robin disks. Apparently the French audio track is better than both.

It seems to be a habit of Beez - they must distribute the same discs to all countries. Wolf's Rain comes in a choice of several languages, which must mean they are taking on quite a few of European markets. Good luck to them I say. :)

Talking of the different lanuages... I'm sure I heard MVM saying that they have to pay the BBFC to certify every language track (and it's not exactly cheap either). So does Beez submit these other European language tracks to the BBFC as well? Obviously a bit of a pointless expenditure if they do!

Hmm, good point. They basically have to pay twice for discs that have two language tracks so it would be a really expensive and time-consuming proposition if that is indeed the case for discs with, say, five language options.

I don't think they literally pay twice to get an extra language certified, it's a discounted amount for extra language tracks. It's possible that it may work out cheaper for them to have one master to copy in large numbers for all of Europe rather than go to the trouble of releasing specific versions for each country. After all, they only pay the once for the certificate.

not to mcuh this month but how little there is mad eup by the good stuff there is. and its good as its xmas and i dont think i would be able to afford any more then there is anyway.

Planetes is about a group of everyday garbage men/women who happen to work in space one of which dreams of joining the crew of the first manned mission to Jupitar. Its another story of ordinary people in an extra-ordinary setting.

BTW Seed vol 8 has shipped but 7 has been delayed until next week, Beez's messes up again, in other news the sky is blue and water is wet
