Deathnote anime on the way?

Deathnote has been in the news a lot lately and this only looks set to continue as yesterday it was announced that a Deathnote anime series is in the works!

An extended trailer for the live action adaptation also hit the Internet last week, so evidently it's a good time to be a Deathnote fan!
 
Thats cool but I think it wont work aswell as an anime as it does as a manga, at least the first half of it will be good anyway, the stuff after L is pretty weak to be honest. Mind you if Gonzo do it no doubt all of it will be crap.

If it's a mystery series, then I'm sure it could work well in anime form. Just look at MONSTER for an example of this; one of the best anime series of the decade and it's all about mystery and crime in our "reality".
 
Judging by the popularity of the manga (in the UK at least) it's not surprising that it's being given the animated adaptation treatment, and it has every chance of being a very good series indeed. That said it is quite odd that the announcement is so close to that of the live action adaptation.

Good news nonetheless.
 
Ive read 2 of the mangas so far and from seeing that trailer a live action could possibly be a great movie and a anime should be even better.
 
I have read all the manga (MY OBSESSION), and saw the original trailer...that extended one really hit my happy spot. : D
WOOT FOR DEATHNOTE ANIME! They'd better have one!
