Anyone here seen the series DearS, i finished watching it the other day and now im reading the manga. I enjoyed it very much because of Takeya's (main character) reactions towards Ren (main CHaracter). I was disapointed however by the ending, but apparently the manga will rectigy that.

So anyone else seen it ? and what did u think of it?

I like DearS, despite it easily being one of the stupidest shows I own. When asked, I can't really say why I like it as it's the kind of thing I'd normally run a mile from, but it has some strange kind of silly charm and I can't help but like some of the characters. Great music too and despite being the character designs being obvious attempts to entice otaku, they're a little unusual and easy on the eyes regardless.

I loved the DearS anime. It is still one of my favourites and is one I have watched multiple times (which is saying something since I rarely have the time to revisit older stuff with all the new stuff coming along).

It has some magnificent dynamics, such as Ren and Takeya, Ren and Miyu and Miyu and Takeya. I also absolutely crack up on episode 10 (DVD; the episode never went to TV) where they crank the fanservice up to a completely new gear.

Of course it is not everyone's cup of tea (too moe for some people) but I enjoy that sort of thing myself.

I thought the anime sucked. But the manga is great it explains a lot and the endings pretty good. Im sure the main character is gay

Didn't think much of it. It was a fairly uninspired harem show who's twist is the whole 'I'm you slave' thing... :? so much for emancipation. Say it's uninspired as it add nothing to the genre and there wasn't anything special about the execution of the show

I enjoyed it, there are a few eps in the middle that I found slow but as an etcchi anime its as good as the first season of Girls Bravo

On my list to Buy, possibly for Xmas

Got vol 1-7 of the manga (can't seem to see the 8 vol in store  )
You might find it difficult to buy since it is now out-of-print due to the demise of Geneon's distribution division.

Amazon.com still have it. I bought it a while ago and according to Amazon it has a delivery date of tomorrow. I.e. I should expect a card through the door in the next few days telling me I need to pay about £10 in customs * but meh I have no idea how long it will remain in stock.

I liked Dears. I thought it had had similar story to Chobits but was a bit more mature and took it to a different level as Ren was a living being not a robot, this opened up questions as to whether it is right to keep someone as a slave even if they want to be.
