Re: The News Thread (for news that does not need a thread)

That's a really good bonus, even though I already have an All Access plan and am therefore paying a premium to watch a handful of mostly-terrible drama shows :D

Crunchyroll manga has some excellent content and much fewer region-related hassles than the anime side. I've been very pleased with it.

Re: The News Thread (for news that does not need a thread)

Cool, I'll drop down to the anime membership tier. That should save me a fair chunk of cash for the year.

While Crunchyroll is mainly known for its vast catalogues of anime and Asian drama, the company has recently expanded into the business of publishing digital manga series' in tandem with their Japanese publishers. Since Crunchyroll launched their manga initiative though, access to chapters have been restricted to exclusive Crunchyroll Manga subscribers shortly after their publication.

Today however, Crunchyroll's Marketing Brand Manager announced on their forum that from today, anyone who is already a Premium Member of the Crunchyroll service will give you full access to the Crunchyroll Manga library! To reflect this change, the manga-only membership will be phased out with subscribers being contacted about how to continue their membership, which will now include access to anime titles.

Also, for three months only, the entire back-catalogue of Hajime Isayama's Attack On Titan and Hiro Mashima's Fairy Tail will be available to read!

Wow, wasn't expecting this. I was actually considering upgrading to the 'All Access' subscription later this year...so, this is a nice bonus!

Re: The News Thread (for news that does not need a thread)

Well I renewed for all access specifically for the manga on Black Friday (and at full price). I'm guessing there's no refunds...

I noticed this the other day, as I wasn't aware I was on an all access membership - but somehow had access to the manga. Very handy though - will definitely be reading AoT, Arpeggio and Fairy Tail through this. Though they could probably do with adding a few more big ticket titles to their catalogue.

Nice move from Crunchyroll here, I'm on all-access but it means I can drop back down to the anime deal when I need to renew in March as I don't bother with the drama.

I jumped into Attack on Titan after Crunchyroll added it, so going back and reading it from the start should be interesting. I can't remember where I jumped into Fairy Tail, I think it was during the Grand Magic Games (because I'd watched the anime until it stopped for however long), but going through the catalog for that as well should be fun! Hope Crunchy get around to adding some new titles soon though

This is excellent! My birthday is in a week so I'd asked for money towards a membership, I was only going to go for the anime membership, but now I can have a look at the manga too. Not sure if it'll include titles that interest me but I'll have a look all the same. Thank you Crunchyroll!

Awesome, I've had the anime membership for years but never bothered with paying extra for the manga. Quite pleased at this.
