The last panel of Claymore in the June issue of Shueisha’s Jump Square magazine carried an announcement that the series has come to an end. Furthermore, the preview page for the next issue of the magazine does not include Claymore.

In the issue’s back page where authors have a line of text to communicate with readers, the creator of Claymore, Norihiro Yagi, wrote, "My editor dropped off some of those super-spicy Peyoung noodles that everyone is talking about these days. I tried them, and they did a number on me."

Claymore started life in Monthy Shōnen Jump back in May 2001 before that magazine was cancelled and the series was temporarily moved to Weekly Shōnen Jump before coming to rest in Jump Square. During its lifetime the first 11 volumes of the series were adapted into a TV anime by Madhouse and both the manga and anime have been licensed an released in the west. So far there are 21 volumes of manga with volume 22 due to be released next month.

I'm really sad the manga has finished, as Claymore is one of my favourites. I hope there is a sequel seeing as the last chapter was a huge cliffhanger with some characters *coughs Clare, Prisicalla*.

I haven't been reading Claymore, but I have to ask: What kind of ending would it have to be to have to have a note saying it's the final chapter?

Well the last chapter had the origins of the yoma revealed and ended with Miria holding the head of one the organisation's leaders to a group of Claymores

I have the first 19 volumes, with this and Negima coming to an end, two of the longer running series I've been collecting for a few years come to an end.

I've already heard on ANN it isn't much of an ending :/

I only stumbled on Claymore early this year and had the luxury of being able to read over 100 chapters in quick succession. The plot of late has been really interesting and I was really looking forward to getting some answers, however the sudden end appears to have put an end to that, unless there is a sequel.

So many series seem to be ending at once, with Negima & Bakuman too :/

This is what I thought. Reading Rena's first spoiler though, that sounds annoying. :-/

when I finished reading that chapter, I actually thought to myself - But what happen to Claire? this is possibly one of the least satisfying endings of a manga series, apart from Shaman King and Yu Yu Hakusho.

Hopefully it's only a temporary thing, and the series returns in one form or another. Personally I've found it dragged out and floundering a little after the time skip; but if it's left like this honestly it's the most dissapointing ending I've seen, and makes me feel I've been wasting my time with the manga.

The story isn't incomplete, it's half missing, it's like the last 20% of the a book is missing.

well, if you've read Shaman King, Twelve Kingdoms or Yu Yu Hakusho, you know that it is possible to end like that. Even more so if the author wasn't too popular in Japan, as those kind of titles are usually more popular outside Japan though.....

So, apparently this is to take place for Claymore:

So we basically will get a second series starting for it as of the next month issue. There still needs to be an official announcement from the guys that do Jump SQ, but yeah. It seems kinda silly from what i read for it to end where it did. There is still too much to cover, so this second series thing seems most likely to happen, i'd say.
