Chaz's Chamber

It's coloured XD

Looks like it took you a long time to do that mate. Very Nice work :thumb: I can, however see what Tachi means with the Simpson comment but it's a great picture all the same. Better colouring skills than my non-existant ones. ^^

Yeah, the colouring needs tuning. I was in a rush to finish it though... didn't want those 1000 needles, ya know. :p

Unsure about the Simpson comment: Do you mean it's coloured to flat/plain? (I.e. the trees dont have ruffled leaves, it's just a mixed-green blob)

If i got it right i think the simpsons comment was more about the skin tone then anything else. But nice work Chaz :thumb:

That's what I ment ;) I think that's what Tachi ment too :p Still awesome like. :thumb:

Got a new piece I'm working on, of which I still need to colour in and such. So here's the line-art for it.

The picture is a tribute to 2 of my favourite art themes - Manga and the art of Gustav Klimt.

Ouch, sunnuva....

where are they? :(
His legs are behind the dress and she is raised on the ball of her foot (not quite tip toes).

*pulls Tachi close and points at bottom left of picture*

i see....wait...why's the guy wearing a dress too  and why's his elbow pointy?? its nero from DMC4! :D

TACHI!!!! You're so mean! TT_TT
Well, Klimt actually wears a smock so that's where it came from. They're usually so big it's hard to see the feet.

Thanks Voddas for the defence. :D

Update!

Geez, it's bad enough not getting time to draw, but when I've hardly said a word in the forums for months now...
Ahem, anyways, I've just done some large scale drawings again, and I also have some ceramics to show... WHAT?! I do that? Sure why not?

Here's my sketches 1st off:

Nagara is just something I made up from reading "Manga Matrix" book (Guidebook).

OMG, how long have I done a decent SOS pic?... And it had to be Alishia to get us back into it. :) (Gosh, I must like my Ecchi.)

And now for my Ceramics. Facial expressions are meant to be manga related, and the heads themselves represent a mood/emotion that the face is trying to hide.

Go to above link and see.

These are biscuit fired, but I have added oxides/reduction fired them too. (Images unavailable atm... dang pc...)

Well, that's it for now. Hope to bring you more soon!

... make me sad. D:

Gathering crit is the best way of improving your work. I hope you didn't create this thread for the sole purpose of boosting your ego.

Here's my crit::

Your figure work is constantly disproportionate - take life drawing lessons, it helped me a lot when I first started acctually concentrating on figure work. Working from the actual human form is the only way you are going to improve in any way.

Well, tbh, the above quote was really told light-heartly (I rarely make comments similar to that with full intent of throwing my arguement at them). Hence the "emotions" attached to them.

But anyways, I do welcome any crit as (like you've mentioned) it improves work. I make a note of not trying to over-sell myself, as I know I'm no real mangaka.
I've not really got the time or money for Life Drawing lessons atm, however you do make a good point. I would be interested to hear what the major inaccurate areas are (as well as examples in certain pictures), so that I can have a better scope of the critism.

Much appreciated!
